YERMOMSMOM User Info... | Well my favourite dvd is now scratched so much that i cant watch it on my comp. I was wondering if you guys know of any places downtown that can repair scratched cd's/dvd's, or if I should empty my pockets and get a cd/dvd repair kit... Stupid cd holder in my music book, im never trusting you again! Chris P - Mon, 29 Nov 2004 9:11pm
The One After Two User Info... | toothpaste. Crest...just a plain paste, no whitening or gel or anything with the grit in it. Cover the disc with the paste and smooth it out. Start at the center and push the paste out toward the end using a fine cotton cloth or shammy. Sometimes I use a T-shirt ;-) those old retro cotton ones work great! Let the paste dry, then rinse in clean water. Shake off the water and let it dry or pat dry with a clean cotton cloth. Should be as good as new. Its worked for me. - Mon, 29 Nov 2004 11:58pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | That video store on Yates st. across from Sugar. It used to be called That's Entertainment. They have a machine for fixing DVDs. - Tue, 30 Nov 2004 12:41am
Kris User Info... | I got one of those repair kits and it didn't fix the dvd at all... - Tue, 30 Nov 2004 8:11am
The Wolf User Info... | If you hold the CD/DVD up to the light and can see plastic through it, it's not worth trying to fix. If the scratch is just on the surface you might want to try one of those "Fixers" - Tue, 30 Nov 2004 10:13am
[+} User Info... | it's called hollywood tonight, go talk to jordan if he's down there. - Tue, 30 Nov 2004 3:44pm
lonemonk User Info... | Any surface fix will only last a small amount of time anyway. I suggest getting the disc duplicated onto a format your computer or Standalone Player can accept (DVD-R or DVD+R are your best bets overall). If you play it a LOT, make two copies. Of course, you'll have to make it play one last time to duplicate it, although you might find another machine will read it in its current state. Last alternative is of course to repurchase it. I'm sure the industry is behind that particular possibility. - Wed, 1 Dec 2004 10:34am
