Metropol Steve User Info... | Hey Kids, Metropol is accepting applications for Lead Postering Technician / Junior Designer. This is a 30hr/week position; half of the day walking around beautiful downtown Victoria and the other half doing design work and office administration. Sounds awesome? It is! Duties will include: Poster design for some of our high profile clients including Lucky Bar, Steamers, Upstairs Cabaret, High Tide Entertainment and many more! Printing, sorting and distribution of posters, flyers and magazines. We print lots of stuff inhouse, so operation of the printing equipment is required (training will be provided). The postering and distribution involves a lot of walking around - even in the rain. (We put up 1000 posters a day so paper cuts are guaranteed). Some excursions on the Metrobike may be required. General design work including ad design, website updates and whatever other strange piecework ends up in our hands. Groundlevel work on some of our new projects including Monsterpol.com (Victoria's Gigposters Online, launching February 2005) and our gigposter zine (Summer 2005). Creative input welcomed and encouraged! The successful candidate will have graphic design experience, a working understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign and Dreamweaver. Must be familiar with the Mac OS. Must have an interest in the local music scene. Illustration talents are a plus! Writing abilities also welcome! Must be able to tell the difference between the sticky/smooth sides of tape! Metropol operates out of the coolest studio in downtown Victoria and our employees go to shows for free. You can read about our company at http://www.monsterpol.com/metropol - If you don't know who we are, don't apply. Send a resume with some examples of your design work to [email protected] Thanks! - Sat, 27 Nov 2004 6:24pm | ||
