JDL User Info... | Yeah 'slacks has given me good advice... and if that doesn't fix it, he always offered to take a look first hand. Thankfully this time I was able to diagnose the problem and have it fixed. - Sat, 2 Oct 2010 12:26pm
superslacks User Info... | Thanks for the kind words, I'm always glad to help people, educate them, and keep them out of the clutches of Long & McQuade! ;) I've done service work for many years as well, and I totally respect Anthony for attempting to make a go of it. All you musicians who complain about the lack of techs out there need to appreciate that most musicians have squat for $$$, and that makes it very difficult for a qualified tech to make a living fixing music gear. I charge a fraction of my professional rate, just for the satisfaction of helping people, and also to see the occasional thing I haven't seen before. So thanks for starting this thread - I'm still available by referral and through superslacks*at*yahoo.com - and please everyone keep supporting Music-Teck to keep a local tech in business. Cheers, S - Tue, 5 Oct 2010 1:28pm
music.teck User Info... | I second Mr. Slacks' thanks for the kind words. He is also correct in saying that it is very difficult to make a living repairing musical equipment, and honestly if it wasn't for my gig mixing sound two or three nights a week and my beautiful wife's income there would be little chance that I would be able to offer these services at the prices that I do. At the same time I love music and I love working on this kind of equipment, even though I could make (and have made) a great deal more money fixing televisions. And the hours are way better. And I think it's safer (yes, I have been attacked by irate customers while repairing televisions). So thanks again... And don't forget to bring your tubes in for free testing if you haven't already (until the end of October). Anthony 250 415 0677 - Tue, 5 Oct 2010 6:20pm
JDL User Info... | 'slacks and anthony(i know you're running a business; so its hard to really discount your work without affecting your space) Id rather give my hard earned money to you guys or at least get advise from people that actually care about what they do.*(im not saying L&M doesn't care, they just dont have the know how or the right person to do the job correctly the first time). hats off to the guys who keep us 'musicians' playin'! - Wed, 6 Oct 2010 10:06am
zakco User Info... | Wow. I can't comment on his personal life and I don't believe that this forum is the place for that anyways, but... I can say that Anthony does fantastic work in a timely and affordable manner. His rates are VERY reasonable in my books. Z - Thu, 10 Mar 2011 1:14pm Edited: Thu, 10 Mar 2011 1:17pm
