_Griphin_ User Info... | Unfortunately I didn't realize (sh)City-TV was showing it last night, and caught the part when they all do acid, this is one of the best movies about bands that I've seen. Say, is life on the road really like that? - Fri, 25 Jun 2004 3:53pm
Adrenaline Animal User Info... | yes it is, exactly like that - Fri, 25 Jun 2004 4:19pm
Chris Logan User Info... | In my experience, yes. Except for the suicide part. Of course, given enough time... - Fri, 25 Jun 2004 6:07pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Yeah, what a way to end a movie, that totally threw me off. - Fri, 25 Jun 2004 9:09pm
jay brown User Info... | My ex, actually the mother of my daughter, her cousin wrote the book the movie was based on. Fuck I love that movie if I'm gonna die and it's not cancer, or a drunken bar brawl, or a skateboard accident, thats how I'm going. Old, washed up, and disillusioned. Fuck I'm already there actually. - Sat, 26 Jun 2004 1:19am
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | "I'm gonna die and it's not cancer, or a drunken bar brawl, or a skateboard accident" You forgot "getting shot by someone's father". - Sat, 26 Jun 2004 1:53am
jay brown User Info... | I've only had one father chase me with a gun. I was about 15 at the time in Sooke and we were in her parents bed whe they walked in, it wasnt a lot of fun. I made it out the front door cause he went for his shotgun, and he chased me right out to the street but then stopped cause there were witnesses around by then. He later paid her big brother fifty bucks to kick my head in. - Sat, 26 Jun 2004 9:20am
Black Kitten User Info... | Wow what people say about you is true. That's kinda fucked. But I do agree about this movie. Hands down one of the best band movies ever made and the best movie made about punk. Watching it brought me right back to my childhood. That's actually quite sad... now that I think about it. - Sun, 27 Jun 2004 1:15pm
jay brown User Info... | bwahahahahah... what people say about me? - Sun, 27 Jun 2004 1:57pm
Broccoli User Info... | the "Man-Whore" Mantle I'm sure is what she is refering to there, big guy Michael Turner's (whos from Van) Book is a good read too. Its not written like a book either: every page is a scrap of information, like a note scratched on a napkin, or a song lyric, phone message, one of the band members journal entries, etcetera. Its pretty neat. "Someones gonna Die tonight" - Sun, 27 Jun 2004 11:12pm
new-wave dave User Info... | correct me if i'm wrong....( and i'm sure someone will) I thoght in the book he doesn't kill himself? - Mon, 28 Jun 2004 1:10pm
Broccoli User Info... | um... it was a while ago that I read it, but as I recall the ending was pretty open to interpretation - Mon, 28 Jun 2004 1:49pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Yeah, the ending blew me away, lead singer (who sings with The Headpins) takes a drink then pulls a gun out and *boom*. Unfortunately, the corpse has never been found :) I'm glad I had a chance to rent that movie (Jim from the CyberCafe recommended it to me), THUMBS UP!!! - Mon, 28 Jun 2004 6:35pm
BlackKitten User Info... | Actually the ending came from a drunken party night between the director, the screenwriter and Hugh Dillon. The book was great, it's a quick read but interesting. Turner has another one called American Whiskey Bar. It's completly fucked up. I still think eveyone should read it though. For the well read punk, check out 'Hard Core Road Show'. It's from the screenwriter's perspective, but it has soem fucked up stories about the production. In regards to the jay stories I have heard, most of them came straight from his own mouth. I had to listen to him ramble all night at the very first Kill Allen Wrench show like two years ago. And yea I have heard that he is a DIRTY, DIRTY MANWHORE. - Tue, 29 Jun 2004 10:25am

M*POWER Events User Info... | Headpins - that's funny - it would've been a completely different movie if Darby Mills played Joe Dick. - Sun, 4 Jul 2004 2:21pm
