sumyungai User Info... | is a new independant station out of Vancouver that's getting quite a bit of dial time in my car lately. Billing themselves as "Roots, Rythm, and Blues", they're an eclectic mix by any other name. Driving home this evening I heard (all in a row) Current Swell (great song, shame I didn`t catch the name), followed by Bowie's "Young Americans" leading into Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldiers". I was even tapping along to "Son Of a Preacher Man" the other day. It's great to hear something local that isn't The Zone (Don't worry Jeremy, our twenty something office girls still love you), and the fact that they are so willing to support their/ our own community deserves support in return. Give 'em a listen, you might even hear yourself on there! - Tue, 1 Jun 2010 9:25pm Edited: Tue, 1 Jun 2010 9:28pm
Evangelium User Info... | Anything is a good alternative to The Zone! Sarah Pee with her airheadedness and disgusting mouth noises, the constant playing of Metric and Jack f'n Johnson, jesus, that station blows. I miss that station we used to have prior to the zone invading town, it was @ 104.9 I think... Better yet, 100.7 The Buzz out of Seattle, before it became a country station. Good old days. - Tue, 1 Jun 2010 10:17pm Edited: Tue, 1 Jun 2010 10:43pm

RobW. User Info... | Sarah P. is no longer with the Zone. For me, the real 'Zone' will always be from YTV in the 90's. Some pretty prime after school programming. Nothing against 91.3, but they can't match the nostalgia. - Thu, 3 Jun 2010 12:44pm
Tyler User Info... | CFUV 101.9 has been my favourite station for the last five years. but I don't listen to radio as background music or whatever. I listen for my favourite shows on CFUV and look forward to them. I'd like to think active listening and looking forward to a well-planned mix is a lot more rewarding than some mindless rotation of new hits or the same overplayed "classics". but then again, there are shows on CFUV that I don't like. when I'm driving in the car with my girlfriend or whatever, we pop over to the Zone sometimes. - Thu, 3 Jun 2010 4:00pm
Mike S User Info... | I miss the days when we could get KISW 99.9 up here clearly.. a french language station is now right near that spot on the dial and cuts out KISW in most areas except Oak Bay near the beach now. Still comes in on cable, and they have a pretty kickin Saturday night metal show. Meh, radio blows in general anyhow.. - Thu, 3 Jun 2010 4:58pm
sumyungai User Info... | Well dammit, they had to go and play Jack Johnson (pussy). Then to compound their crime they followed up with Sam Roberts. I may have to re- evaluate my previous comments. On the plus side, they got it over and out of the way. And I kinda dug the new Lyall Lovett. - Thu, 3 Jun 2010 6:23pm
T.C. User Info... | KISW influenced me like nothing else in the eighties. Are they still great? I better go check. - Thu, 3 Jun 2010 9:32pm
