And if so why did no one bother to tell all the kickass bands out there? I'll admit that when I was a wee lass I thought it was a bit country, but since the first time I heard The Almighty Reverend Horton Heat in high school, I haven't really looked back. I keep finding reasons to love it and mosre bands that keep the sound and the genre evolving with out killing what makes it so inherently cool. So why do people keep telling me it's dead? - Mon, 7 Jun 2004 11:18am

I don't know... maybe 'cause some people just don't get it. Or maybe 'cause some people like art that 'seems' progressive. It don't matter much though; 'cause I think rockabilly's great and it's definitely part of North America's grand musical heritage.

The Reverend does indeed rule - other cool bands you might be interested in include Johnny Legend and His Rockabilly Bastards, the Bughouse 5 (playing a show over here real soon!), and older school stuff like Link Wray and Charlie Feathers. - Mon, 7 Jun 2004 11:48am
