Message Board > General Chitchat > Help! - Controlling a Light Show |
Above the knee User Info... | So my band is hoping to have a light show going on for our CD release next month and we have hit a minor snag. Now forgive me for sounding like an idiot but I'm not a 'light guy'. We are in need of the 'brain' piece of equipment that can be used to control all of the lights. I am told that L&M does not rent these out (as opposed to lights) so my question is: Does anyone know where I could get my hands on this piece of equipment? If anyone out there has one or knows someone who does, we would be willing to pay for its temporary usage. If you are sketched about lending it then we'd also be willing to pay to have a 'light person' for the show. Know anyone I could try? Thanks in advance! - Thu, 22 Apr 2010 4:16pm

Metropol Steve User Info... | Best lighting guy I know is Ruairi Lazers (name says it all). He's the house lighting tech for Element and we've hired him to do shows in the past. Plus, he's a super easy going guy. You can reach him at [email protected] - Thu, 22 Apr 2010 5:59pm
laprider User Info... | Pro shop is yer cheapest best bet. Lights, a few little colored garden lights is one thing, but "real" lighting is a little tricky...you gotta know your power loads, amperages, and all fun stuff. If you need a lighting board, chances are you are trying to control lighting that is gonna need some sussing out of your power situation. I am no LD but have a good grasp , hit me if you want. Rauri is great too and he hooked up with DL sound who I always get my rental stuff from. - Thu, 22 Apr 2010 7:02pm
