colin User Info... | I was just wondering if anyone has any extra sound-proofing material,, or if someone would be able to help me soundproof a room in my house. - Tue, 27 Apr 2004 9:32am
Cheeky User Info... | Eggcartons....tons and tons of eggcartons.... eat eggs...scrambled eggs..and scrambled carpet... - Tue, 27 Apr 2004 10:30am
Kickback User Info... | Egg cartons will slightly help tame the sound in the room but they wont do much for soundproofing, same with carpet. Unfortunately there's no cheap way to soundproof a room. The only way it will be truely soundproof is if you building a floating room inside the room that's already there. Check out these sites they have alot of good info on soundproofing. http://www.soundproofing101.com/ http://www.acoustics101.com/ - Tue, 27 Apr 2004 11:23am
Criss Crass User Info... | Ross B ay has some extra soundproofing tiles at his house he has been trying to get rid of. Thet are about 3x5. they should cover quite a bit of space. email him at [email protected] - Thu, 29 Apr 2004 8:11am
ML7Mike User Info... | O'hourigans Carpet on Tattersal have a truck around back, and they allow you to mooch old carpet out of it.. go at night, nobody will bug you. If ya cant afford $$ soundproofing, hang the carpet from 2x4 straps along the ceiling.. this will give an airpocket between the carpet and your walls ( or mattresses ) which helps deaden alot of sound. - Thu, 29 Apr 2004 8:54am
colin User Info... | so do you just put the tiles on the walls? and put the carpets away from the walls hanging from the ceiling, and put blankets and what not in between?? - Sat, 1 May 2004 7:32am
ML7Mike User Info... | I think its best to have an air pocket between the carpet and something absorbent to sound ( ie: matresses, styrofoam insulation, fibreglass, whatver you have,,) the studio we jam in had a second wall framed in with two layers of insulation between the walls.. - Sat, 1 May 2004 7:59am
