kraft television theatre User Info... | BRIEF CAPSULE REVIEWS OF THE RESULTS YOU WILL RECEIVE IF YOU SEARCH FOR "GORILLA GIVING BIRTH" ON GOOGLE: 1. FOUNDATIONS OF PSYCHOHISTORY: CHAPTER 6 http://www.psychohistory.com/htm/p223x236.htm The author presents an academic analysis of certain perceived social zeitgeists correlated with frequently occurring metaphorical archetypes in the media, attempting to develop a "psychohistory" of the "subconscious" of American history and its relationship with the media. The science and motivation behind the research seem very specious, but it's kind of interesting to look at. 2. BOSTON RADIO INTERNET DIGEST ARCHIVES http://www.bostonradio.org/boston-radio-interest/v06.n029 This seems to be a series of questions and answers about a handful of AM radio stations in Boston, evidently retained from an internet newsgroup or mailing list somewhere. Most of the information revolves around minute details of these radio stations (e.g. stories of past power outages to their transmitters, personal and professional histories of certain radio personalities) that would be of little interest to anyone who does not listen to them regularly. Might have slight novelty value. 3. "TELLING STORIES ABOUT LIFE ON THE ROAD" http://www.vanfossenpro.com/telling/weblog/2003-02.html Something about this page's design puts me off so much that I have absolutely no desire to read the article. The "doing/being/going/living/etc." menu bar on the left is probably responsible for setting me off like that, it's really abhorrent. The "meat" of the page seems to be some kind of travelogue detailing the author's personal experience in Israel. Politics seem a little sketchy. 4. "SPICY LETTUCE SIGHTINGS" http://www.spicylettuce.com/sightings.asp People amuse one another in a guestbook which asks readers to describe their encounters with "Spicy Lettuce", an entity the properties of which are never really outlined. The humour is mostly incredibly weak, juxtaposing this seemingly "wacky" object with situations of mild cultural interest. Don't bother. - Fri, 23 Apr 2004 12:21am | ||
