Masturbating The War God User Info... | I admit, I didn't go into the movie expecting too much. Heard that it was supposed to be more Teen based, and the previews didn't do too much for me. But holy jumping jesus zombies, what a spectacular movie! BEST zombie movie since the original I think. It basically sticks somewhat to the original, I think that the different approach of this film was very refreshing, not to mention the beautifully filmed death/gore scenes...hell, brought a tear to my eye. 9/10 Anyone else out there seen this yet? - Sun, 21 Mar 2004 6:51pm
FeLiXtheCaT User Info... | i don't know if it's worth me seeing. i personaly think i won't like it because it looks too much like a combination between "28 days later" and "resident evil". even those i have seen the original dawn of the dead, i really don't expect a remake to be that good. many remakes these days suck, because they can't live up to the originals. the only thing that makes a difference is that the gore is more realisic and the blood is less like ketchup. - Sun, 21 Mar 2004 7:47pm
Mutilashawn User Info... | Oh man, I really want to see this movie now!!! I saw the 8 minute teaser and it looks really good. Zombie appocalypse! Very creepy. - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 2:32am
Dd[]Sanger User Info... | I rolled my eyes when I heard they were remaking dawn of the dead, surely it must be just another sad attempt at mainstream hollywood running out of ideas and badly rehashing classics covered in dust... I'm told this is not the case, apparently this remake has a great storyline, acting, special effects and the whole deal.. I'm still a little unsure weather or not I will share the opinions of those I know who have seen it, but they all tell me I should go and see it so... Well what the hell, couldn't possibly suck harder than the blair witch project so I suspose I may as well catch this one in theatres.. - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 5:46am
Cheeky User Info... | Zombies flicks havn't really been my thing, but this movie changed my mind. I think it's worth to see if your into that sort of thing. - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 6:37am
Sudz User Info... | YEEAAAHHHHH! Two stiff nips and a full erection. Dawn rawked!! Bout time justice iz brought to the zombie genre! Y'all must witness! - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 7:19am
XY-SATAN User Info... | Saw it on Saturday, fucking top notch! Lots of gore with a great storyline and action packed! Was not expecting to much, the trailers were about one minute of the movie so the rest was a pleasant surprise, havent been to a movie where people run from the theatre to use the can and come storming back in not to miss the rest. I ran into someone running out, as I was running back in, damn funny! Don't get up to quick at the end like a lot of people did and stood in the isles after realizing it wasn't over. Im going to see it again it was that good! - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 11:29am
Nik Olaz User Info... | It was one of the best re-makes i've ever seen...but seeing the Ladykillers this friday just might change that... - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 12:05pm
anti-blue-up User Info... | Saw it last night and it totally rocked. It raises the bar for remakes. Scary, gory and it wasn't too 'slick'...the camera work was just jumpy enough. Bruce Campbell's performance was fucking brilliant (as usual). I'm going back to see it again. *doh, XY beat me too it* - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 12:11pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | I also saw it on the weekend. It is a worthy remake. I have been a little gunshy of "remakes", or even worse the dreaded "re-imagining" ever since Michael Bay fucked up Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Nonetheless I went for it. All I can say is it took Romero's idea and ran with it. Add some more interesting characters, conflicts and running zombies, and you've got a winner. Nice to see Savini in a cameo too! - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 12:48pm
Robnoxious User Info... | Yeah, 28 Days came to mind. Pretty good splatter scenes and people getting slammed by vehicles. The ambulance nailing that person was a good one. Andy the sharpshooters' head blew up real good when he turned to a zombie and the put him down. Scary fat old lady zombie, eewww !!! The chainsaw bit. - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 4:30pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | Wait, Bruce Campbell? I don't remember him in it, but I am a bit of a moron.... Who was he? - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 4:33pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Bruce Campbell wasn't in it. Tom Savini was the Sherrif they were interviewing on TV about how to dispose of the zombies. - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 5:51pm
Danny Silverfish User Info... | just got back from seein it, no bruce wasn't in it, it was savini, and the black guy on tv talking about no room in hell , I swear that was one of the original swat guys from the first dawn. Not a bad remake, better than most of the shit they put out now.but where did the gore go, yes there is violence and blood but no noodles or people getting pulled apart? - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 6:03pm
kittykat666 User Info... | tom savini did a cameo... jesus, i have to go see it now!!!! - Mon, 22 Mar 2004 6:26pm
anti-blue-up User Info... | oh my god, you're right, no Bruce. That Ty Burell looks just like him though, right down to the scar on his chin. Even the mannerisms and the sarcasm. I had assumed he'd just been heavily botoxed or something. Plus, he's sometimes credited using a different name so i didn't think anything of it. Sorry! *creeps away in shame* - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 4:30am
Son of Mogh User Info... | I wouldn't really call it a remake, the title and the mall were the only things it had in common with the original, but it still ruled! I'm going to see it again in the theatre, this time i'm going to smoke three joints before hand! The only downside for me was that there was not nearly enough gore (but could there ever be enough to satisfy me?) It didn't have as much atmosphere as 28 Days Later, but i think i liked it a little better (less of a love story, and a better ending.) Go see it, it's worth the $8.50 just to see the CHAINSAW ACCIDENT on the big screen!!! - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 4:30am
DOOMHAMMER User Info... | Bruce campbell? Fucking moron. And im a big fan of the original zombie movies, and when I heard they were making this movie I thought fuck, ruining another thing. Heard it was going to be some gay teen bullshit, and the previews looked like shit. Being a fan of the original, I had to see it, and I was surprised. Its a good fucking movie, action right away and the only downside is the bikers werent there, but its a very good remake. It has my seal of approval, and it sets up day of the dead pretty good. Its better than 28 days later and resident evil, thats for sure. - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 9:14am
Masturbating The War God User Info... | With re-makes it's always a gamble, this one payed off. I liked it when they shot Jay Leno, haha, wicked. And those Maguyver(sp?) buses rocked. I shall go again! - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 12:43pm
Bryn User Info... | This one is a top-notch zombie flick. Very scary and intense, but with a few laughs, too. I would highly recommend the re-made Dawn of the Dead as a worthy entry to the zombie canon! - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 1:11pm
Bryn User Info... | Just to check who was watching... The name of the department store in the movie is the same as the name of...??? - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 1:15pm
mi.coll. User Info... | man, i wanna get a zombie canon! - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 3:21pm
mi.coll. User Info... | anyway... i can't believe they remade dawn of the dead. that is fucking crap. what is with hollywood. first they remake that hitchcock film SHOT FOR SHOT (!), now this. i don't care if the remake is good-- they should come up with a NEW MOVIE for fucks sakes. sure, zombie movies are cool and everything.... so come up with a new one! Danny Boyle did it. George Romero did it. The fucker that made this one should have too. - Tue, 23 Mar 2004 3:22pm
Dd[]Sanger User Info... | Fucking people, getting me all excited because I read Bruce Campbell was in it and then seconds later my bubble of glorious one liners gets popped :\ - Wed, 24 Mar 2004 4:38am
J User Info... | then go for it spielberg... let see what you have...new ideas are a little hard to come by these days i know but work with what ya got and you might actually enjoy a movie - Wed, 24 Mar 2004 4:39am
Lucky Bar User Info... | DAWN OF THE DEAD. Rocked. Period. Best opening for a Zombie film ever - everyone goes to bed, the world is fine. They wake up, the world is FUCKED! I think the televangelist did look alot like an older version of SWAT guy from the original. I can't remember the name of the department store. The MUSIC was amazing - the Johnny Cash song... the Jim Carrol song... and the Down With the Sickness cover. FAST ZOMBIES! WOO WOO!!! Here's SUPER trivia... who did the soundtrack to the original? Why is that cool? Prize? Beer @ Lucky. Tickets to get in to get to the beer. - Wed, 24 Mar 2004 10:39am
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | The Goblins w/ Dario Argento did the music in the original. I think it's cool because I've only heard The Goblins(not to be confused with Nardwuar's Thee Goblins) in relation to zombie movies and they did the music here with Italian Zombie/Horror kingpin Argento. On a side note: The televangelist in the new one is indeed Ken Foree who was the protagonist in the original. - Wed, 24 Mar 2004 2:51pm
DOOMHAMMER User Info... | Goblins peak was with the movie Susperia. And to whoever went off about making remakes and all that shit, I can understand it. You are a kid, you see a movie and it inspires you. You get older, and you want to revisit what inspired you in the first place. I dont give a shit if someone makes a remake as long as its a good remake. And after watching it again I noticed a couple things, the televangelist is the original swat guy, and the general is that roger dude from the original. - Wed, 24 Mar 2004 3:43pm
jay brown User Info... | So fucking good!!!!!!!!! I am going to watch that over and over and over.... filmed in canada too huh. - Wed, 24 Mar 2004 5:56pm

XY-SATAN User Info... | Fucking A , it rocked the second time around and surprisingly I still jumped at some of the parts ! Now if they would do day of the dead , cuz that one I think was the best ! - Sat, 27 Mar 2004 9:00pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | I thought that Day Of The Dead was the weakest of the series. - Sat, 27 Mar 2004 11:43pm
Dd[]Sanger User Info... | I want an army of darkness follow up... GO CAMPBELL!!!!! BOOMSTICK SLAUGHTER!!! *and they can name the sequel that * - Sun, 28 Mar 2004 12:04am
DOOMHAMMER User Info... | Day of the dead is easily the weakest. And the goblins question was insanely easy. Infact last year in cali with mast. the war god some dude was wearing the sweetest goblin shirt ive ever seen. Even opeth said awesome shirt to the guy. I should have killed the bitch for it. And I think day of the dead has some of the most potential, newer fast zombies in an enclosed space with absolutely no hope of escape. Good times. - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 3:59am
Masturbating The War God User Info... | Yes Doomhammer, that guy had a nice shirt. Saw the movie again, was just as good! I forgot about the lounge version of Down With The Sickness that they played, exceptional, it actually sounds really good! - Fri, 2 Apr 2004 1:02pm
Whitford St. Holmes User Info... | I saw 'Dawn of the Dead' at the theatre when it first arrived (I know, I'm dating myself- it was 1979). I thought it was (and still is) one of the best horror movies ever, and certainly the BEST zombie film ever made. I finally saw the remake last night. Was it as good? No, but I felt that at least it provided enough meat (excuse the pun) to keep my interest. There were some great ideas; the concept of Andy on the roof across the street was cool, and the zombie baby was also quite chilling. There were elements that the original had that were sorely missed (the importance of the mall as a commentary on materialism and the motorcycle gang that was previously mentioned), but it was a worthy remake. I like it! - Fri, 2 Apr 2004 1:24pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | The lounge singer is Richard Cheese. He cover all sorts of popular songs loung-style. Hilarious! His rendition of "Baby Got Back" almost made me piss myself! - Fri, 2 Apr 2004 1:34pm
Masturbating The War God User Info... | Good to know, thanks Ty, I'll look for his stuff online! - Fri, 2 Apr 2004 3:51pm
