| The Perish/Perish Productions | Attention all booking agents and Venue managers: The Perish is looking to host CD release/single release party in Victoria. We have lots of media attention, lots of people interested, lots of promo, contacts, and WE JUST NEED TO GET OUT THERE! I have been managing the band's affairs but do not have what it takes to book us in a large venue. Our next media review is by Nexus and is pending on if we are booked by December 9th. Dont let the punks and trolls get to ya, they are just trying to get this rise from you. What you should do is not post 50 times about your band, one or two will do, and do some local shows already before you start to try and just pounce on the scene. | hey perish | posting here will never help anyways. you should be informed that this is not a place to receive help unless you belong to on of the local music cliques. you would be far better off posting a poster in the bathroom of a denny's than asking for help from any of the people that frequent this board. i would suggest you get on the computer and check the yellow pages here and vancouver. unless your freinds with half the bands in this city don't expect anyone from victoria to come to your show and support you. people in this city have such a L.A. attitude, unless your already popular or have hundreds of friends no one will get of there ass to check out a new band. me and my band are new to town aswell and after a few thousand postersand ,tv,newspaper,radio spots = very few people showing up for shows. we have decided that vancouver is the only place we will play. victoria is a nice place to raise a family but very hard to find acceptance for music. oh unless you place shitty punk music than forget what i just said, cause it seems the less talent you have the better chance of getting a gig. - Thu, 5 Dec 2002 2:03pm | ||
