superslacks User Info... | Recently asked the question "so how many guitars DO you have?" . . . Anyone who gets asked this question (yawn) knows what's behind it - what they're really saying is "Do you really NEED so many guitars?" . . . like I could ever own enough. So, my new answer is 447. As in, I own 447 years worth of guitar history. I don't even have that many guitars, so I figure there's some pretty big ones out there (Laprider?). Anyone else wanna post their number? ( I rounded up to 2010, cuz the math was easier) PS - aside from being stuck at home bored on a Saturday night, this post was inspired by a show we did last weekend in Seattle where the entire backline (five amps) was at least 40 years old. . . . and I thought it was cool that we were playing through over 200 years worth of Fender history. - Sat, 14 Nov 2009 11:05pm Edited: Sat, 14 Nov 2009 11:05pm

laprider User Info... | weee.... One can never have too many guitars, but that whole scene went out of control years ago, I'm long outta that foolish game. 5000 bux for a poorly built 70's strat, nah! I got lucky being older and got some gems for real prices. Having said that I have kept records over the years of every single guitar or amp I have owned, including my store and brokering some sweet guitars I have personally bought and owned a total of 1462 guitars... sick. Now I have all the guitars I need with the exception of that elusive light Tele....I doubt I will dole out 70 g for a 52 so will probably build my own, I'd be slammin in a B bender anyway. A point of note. I have owned a 55, 57, 59, 63, 68 and many other strats...to this day the best strat I've had and still my baby is a First run Squire early 80's japan strat, all stock mnus one changed custom evans Pick up and about 5 fret jobs! something to always keep in mind! - Sun, 15 Nov 2009 2:58pm
superslacks User Info... | The scene went crazy . . . now it seems a 'bit' more reasonable. Laprider, I think I saw your tele in that overpriced shop down in the emerald city. (a place that was asking $9K for a '64 Jaguar - yeah right). Check out Classic Guitars on Fort - he seems on the low side of market, imo. And I totally agree with your point of note - my number one is an early eighties Ibanez Gibson copy; I've yet to find it's equal and I'm never scared to leave the house (or country) with it. - Mon, 16 Nov 2009 12:32am
Tyler User Info... | recently sold my Ibanez RG because I did feel like I have too many for my current living arrangements and desired range of tones. here's what I currently have: -Agile Harm (chambered, kind of like a Rickenbacker knockoff, sounds a little different, I'd probably prefer a Rick but I can't really afford one) -Agile Les Paul (AL2000) (again, I'd probably prefer a vintage Gibson but the price was right and these are way superior to other knockoffs in the price range) -SX LP Jr (mainly just to have a guitar with P90s) -Epiphone LP modded with an internal oscillating fuzz, kaoss pad control with switchable lights, fernandez sustainer circuit -Fender Jazz MIM fretless bass I'm young and I'm no collector. I've been curious about the preferred guitars mentioned above, those clear dan armstrong guitars, a vintage jazzmaster, or one of those les paul "the paul" guitars. I've always felt more interested in altering my tone from the effects, amplifiers, cabinets, etc. side of things. and even pickups seem to make more of a difference than subtleties of guitar construction. and I'll never understand the guitar collector with a $9000 guitar and a little 1x10" Fender combo amp. if we get to add up the years from non-guitar gear, I'm stoked, cause a ton of my amps and cabs are from the 70's and some from the 80's. but I'm pretty lacking in the vintage guitar "manhood comparison". - Mon, 16 Nov 2009 1:06pm Edited: Mon, 16 Nov 2009 1:10pm
Lucius User Info... | Two that will never leave me: Ibanez Jem 77FP (87's) Kramer Baretta 1 (84's) and two that are great for the last couple years: Laiho LTD Willie Adler LTD Oh and I just bought a disposable guitar: THC V4 - great neck thru guitar that I'll likely sell with in the week. Gutairs for the most part stay with me. Amps on the other hand are like changing underwear. I sound like me regardless of what amp I play (with in reason), that and I like buying/selling shit.
