Really the only answer to this question is go to a house of ill repute. If your going to drop $$ on a date it might as well be a sure thing. - Thu, 29 Jan 2004 10:56am

Wharfside Eatery is a joke (I used to work for them). I went there once for 2 sleeves of Van Isle Hermans Dark, total cost = $13 and they didn't even have an Interac machine (had to use the ATM machine there). - Thu, 29 Jan 2004 1:55pm

Good old Big Bad John's! Bringing the people together!

That is where the boy and I went on our first excursion. Oh, sweet memories of sitting a little too close to inebriated strangers and tossing peanut shells around! The mocking potential is just too plentiful to bother going anywhere else.

I concur, ROS S B AY! - Thu, 29 Jan 2004 7:33pm

A drive on the Malahat after a movie. Maybe go for coffee and talk about the movie. Going to see a movie can also be good if you dont want to talk. I used to think a movie was a bad date cause there's no interaction.

Sailing, horseback riding, skiing/snowboarding, long drives. Do what you like to do. Let your date experience who you really are. - Sat, 31 Jan 2004 11:40am

BBJ's was a good call. No matter how ugly you may look at other bars, or in the daylight, you will look like a porn god amidst the crimson-necked merchants of ignorance(the regulars). Take your opportunity to shine in the face of mediocrity.

I think a midnight picnic at Ross Bay Cemetary or the Deadzone & labyrinth would be just the ticket.

Or if you want something more mundane, you could try coffee at an open mike/philosophy cafe...gives you something to chat/laugh about.

Heh... Actually I found this Japanese restaurant just off Burnside (in the mini-mall next door to Mac's Convenience store), I always thought it would make an awesome first date place.

BBJ's?!? Wow what a mess the last time I went there. - Mon, 9 Feb 2004 12:32am
