Of course, some people are afraid of mentioning it to their boss in fear of losing their jobs so they put up with it. I work there cause i like my schedule and the people I work with and I don't want to fucking go all the way into town for a 4 hour shift, thats 2 hours of traveling if you have to take the people tube, though my boss is kinda weird cause she's going through menopause and the other boss who is sleeping with my best friend just fucking freaks me out. And they pay me the freakin' 6 bucks cause I'm just a lowly dishwasher, though doing prep, bussing, being one of the cashiers and fucking cleaning the restaurant at close should surely deserve more then 6 bucks with no tips, or am I just being fucking loney when I think that? - Wed, 28 Jan 2004 1:47pm | ||

| Instrument of Karma User Info... | 8.00 per hour IS the minimum wage, but if it's your FIRST job, they can pay you 6.00 per hour as a training wage, but only for the first 6 months. If you are being shafted, speak out. It is unlawful for ANY employer to punish you in ANY way for standing up for your rights. If this is not your first job, or you have been there for more than 6 months, you're getting screwed. The reason small business owners (food service industry in particular) abuse the system is that they are allowed to by the very people that they are screwing. I dunno cause I've been working for $10.65 per hour at the Wellesley (and since my probation is finished I now make something like $11.35 per hour). Think that's a lot?!?
