Are listed to be playing the Cobalt on Friday, March 19th. I thought Chi Pig had moved on to make something of Slaveco. Might have to check this show out. - Sat, 24 Jan 2004 12:08pm

I talked to Chi-Pig, apparently he's rather bitter about SNFU. But i hear a new album is being released, go figure. - Sat, 24 Jan 2004 6:26pm

Well I guess the guys have to eat. If ever a band should have called it a day years ago it would be SNFU. Unfortunately they hit it big with Epitaph some years ago (and apparently just as they were about to break up for the last time) so now it's a matter of mining the golden goose. As for Slaveco, it pains me to say that they were arguably the most boring band I've seen in a long time. I have a lot of respect for Chi just for hanging in there as long as he has but I've never liked ANY of his bands (SNFU, Wongs, Slaveco). Oh well.. - Sun, 25 Jan 2004 7:29am

Scott you never liked SNFU? what a shame...one of my all time fav's..although id have to agree that most of their later albums (post: better than a stick in the eye) didn't live up to the first three. I think I'll be making the trek to Van for this one...anyone heard of the possibility of a Victoria show? - Sun, 25 Jan 2004 2:06pm

SNFU were/are one of those bands that I always had a lot of respect for and I was happy that they finally made some dough but, in the final analysis, I just couldn't get very excited about them or any of the spin off bands. I've played shows with both the Wheat Chiefs and Slaveco and, although I was predisposed to like them, I ended up being bored stiff by them. Nice guys and all but... - Sun, 25 Jan 2004 7:05pm

There is the possibility of a Vic show. We're just waiting to see what's up. Bitter? Not so much. I think that the members are just a little happier to be playing in the other bands rather than SNFU. This new record should be good, and the shows will be too.
As for Slaveco, they get better every time I see them. - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 1:31pm

Scott Henderson knows as much about music, and the qualities that make any band/piece of music "art", as anyone on this board.

Probably more. That makes him qualified. - Wed, 28 Jan 2004 9:05am

Like I said, I have a lot of respect for the guys; it's just that their music isn't my cup of borscht. Just my opinion. - Wed, 28 Jan 2004 5:18pm
