An Ottawa-born bilingual Canadian, Lorraine Baron grew up loving music – whenever her mom, brother and she took road trips, they would sing in French and in English with harmonies, and in rounds – as is typical in French-Canadian music. She picked up a guitar in high school, learned a few chords from friends, and played folk songs by ear.
Lorraine enjoyed teaching high school for many years, and then became a professor teaching teachers. She worked at the University of British Columbia, and then at the University of Hawaii. Since late 2017, Lorraine has learned how to write music using GarageBand, and has honed her guitar, writing, and production skills bit by bit. Over the last year or so, Lorraine Baron has shared positive messaging through rich vocals and harmonies by writing and producing a number of songs that range across many styles, including R&B, Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, Latin, Folk and fusions of these. Lorraine’s music is available on 22 different platforms, including Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud, and YouTube.
