I like The White Stripes. I dig 85% of their songs. They are a good band for straight up blues based rock. Their analog sound is the main draw for me though!
As Redd Blood Cells has shown, they would certainly benefit from a bassist. - Fri, 10 Oct 2003 6:24pm

I saw the White Stripes play at the Pic in December 2000. I didn't really know who they were or anything, but a bunch of my like minded jackass buddies said it be worth my while to check 'em out. They were right. I have their first 3 albums and I think they're all damn good. I was as surprised as anyone else when they became "popular". But you know, I think it was a case that they had the "right sound" at the "right time". If you don't dig their sound fair enough, but anyone who begrudges their relative success is bein' petty... 'cause I don't think they were ever jumping on a trend or anything. I think they'd still be playin' the same songs and same music for 100 people at the Pic if they never got signed to that "big" record deal.... - Sat, 11 Oct 2003 4:54am

They are damn good. Very funky, some easy but catchy riffs. They also seem very "artsy".
A very good band.

It's not often I can turn on a horrible commercial radio station and hear anything I like - So I appreciate the white stripes. They know musis, and do it tooth and nail.

Sure it's a little sad when it gets to the point that 'seven nation army' will be seen as nothing more than a stripper's routine in a Kamloops strip joint some time soon, but they're real. The stuff they released when they where on the sympathy for the music industry label was fucking great. How many skimpy white garage kids could do a decent Blind Willie Mctell cover? Not many, so you've got to give them credit for that.

(Or you can hate the because they aint METAL!!! in the usual LiveVic fashion) - Mon, 13 Oct 2003 9:53pm

When I heard their first single on the radio I thought that the Buzzcocks had got back together and made a new album! I like 'em fine but I crave the missing botton end. - Fri, 17 Oct 2003 11:54pm

What the white stripes aern't metal? That sucks I really liked the white stripes, oh well, on to my duties:

The white stripes yadda yadda, insult, insult, yadda.

Yeah because us people who listen to metal only like metal. We are not allowed to like anything else. I like country and I like metal and I like rock and I like the spice girls and thats all there is to it. I am kind of a cross between a redneck and a metalhead, henceforth the name. My best friend was a complete hardcore rapper g dawg. I played him some children of bodom and he is now converted. Now he also is a half breed. I guess you would call him metalgee or something. - Sat, 18 Oct 2003 6:25pm

Funny part is I was listening to The White Stripes when they were a barely known underground garage band.. now they are all famous and people get to know them for their top 40 shit. Its like judging Deep Purple by Smoke On The Water. - Tue, 21 Oct 2003 8:20am

Brand X~ If something is catching on at a Kamloops strip club, there may be something to it. That's all I will say about such matters. And I should know...

And I subject certain people to the White Stripes quite frequently. They're fun. - Tue, 21 Oct 2003 9:53am
