Greetings!

A small group of us are helping to organize next year's second annual Worldwide Drumming for the Earth celebration. This year's event drew quite a crowd for a first annual event - Legislature security guards estimated the circle to be between 85 to 100 people. A small drum group on Parliament Hill also drummed simultaneously with us this year.

The lead organizer's vision is to eventually have drum groups across Canada...and the world...drumming and singing in unison to send loving energy to the Earth.

If anyone is interested in volunteering to help with the 2009 event, the next planning meeting will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 1pm (in Victoria). We are also looking for people who have connections with drum groups locally, nationally and internationally to help spread the word, and participate regardless of location.

This a free, public event without corporate sponsorship, so if anyone has access to a really good megaphone or PA they could lend for this event, we'd be especially grateful. Any other creative ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. And of course, everyone is welcome to participate on Sep 19 whether or not you have the time to help out.

Further information can be obtained by e-mailing or calling Marianne Sämann-Wyss at the contacts provided below. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Happy holidays!

This is our song Of Gratitude & Appreciation
Second annual World Wide Drumming for the Earth

When: September 19, 2009, Fall Equinox, noon – 2
Where: Lawn of the Legislature, Victoria, Songhees Traditional Territory

In these - much out of balance - times, Gaia is asking us to come together in gratitude to celebrate all the gifts she shares so freely with us and to pledge our support for her in return.

Don’t have a drum? Come anyway… your voice and energy is needed.

Please join us in this special circle to share our love and appreciation of the best (and only) home we have in a strong and clear voice.

For organisational purposes, please let Marianne know if you plan to come and how many people you are going to bring
