Ryan Bill We will be having a screening of the Perfect Storm (one of Todd, Patrick and my favorite movies) at the Fifty Fifty (416 Craigflower Rd.)
on Tuesday the 24th of June.
fish and chips and beer, boats, the smell and the mist of the sea, and some more stuff.
hope to see you...bye bye - Sat, 14 Jun 2003 9:47pm
Gman OMG this is going to be AMAZING. We're going for stereo sound and the big speakers are gonna be full on bass action for that "I'm right in the swells!" feeling.

It will be just like being there with Mark Wahlberg and that other guy. What's his name. You know, from "O Brother Where Art Thou?" No, not John Turturo...

Don't forget your life preserver.

Gman - Mon, 16 Jun 2003 12:13pm
Ryan Bill uhh....Grayson, I BELIEVE you are refering to George Clooney! and don't forget the real ocean smell of this event, and refreshing ocean "mist" that will be present.

Ryan - Mon, 16 Jun 2003 1:04pm
Gman George who? Whatever, d00d - you can be so 1986 sometimes.

I'm a little apprehensive about the sea smell. What will that be involving, exactly? Not actual sea, I hope.

Gman - Mon, 16 Jun 2003 2:03pm
film geek . . . mmm, Smell-O-Vision.
any chance todd or ryan can throw fish sticks from behind the screen to give the production that 3-D feel? - Mon, 16 Jun 2003 8:33pm
Gman Gross, man. Really gross.

I am now wishing that tonight was the 24th! (Which, coincidentally, is St Jean-Baptiste day in QC. Check the news for riots!)

Gman - Tue, 17 Jun 2003 1:07pm
Ryan Bill Fish Sticks? NO...those are for eating fOOl. - Tue, 17 Jun 2003 6:07pm
Gman 'fish sticks are for eating'

... barely...

Gman - Wed, 18 Jun 2003 3:21pm
Anonymous what about regurgitated fish sticks?? those have already been eaten, and they'd splatter nicely so they wouldn't hurt the people you were throwing them at!! Unlike unregurgitated fish sticks which could potentially take out an eye, and you probably don't want to get sued. - Wed, 18 Jun 2003 10:48pm
film geek . . .see that's what i'm talking about. something to firmly place the perfect storm into the exploitation realm. give it a little john waters' touch. - Thu, 19 Jun 2003 2:01am

This is probably code--I bet the boys from Chet are planning to unleash the infamous 'Brown Sound' they're said to be experimenting with. I'd bring a change of skivvies if I was going to this event, folks! - Thu, 19 Jun 2003 2:40pm
Ryan Bill Who the hell is that guy? Why does he keep talking about poo all over live victoria? why won't he identify himself? No poo at this event just REAL sea smell ( we hope. we don't actually know if our idea will work ). Oh yah....don't wear anything that you are worried about getting salty!

Ryan:

I think I may have mentioned your secret Brown Sound experiment to some people. I am sorry, but I was drunk at the time and, well, you know how I get: not unlike George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg stuck with only 1 1/2 feet of air left in the cabin of the boat just before they swim to safety except then George... well, I don't want to spoil anything.

Gman - Thu, 19 Jun 2003 5:27pm
Anonymous salty?? you mean like dingleberries?? - Thu, 19 Jun 2003 6:45pm

Hhhhhoooooolllllllyyyyyy sssssshhhhhhiiiiiitttttt!!!1!!1!!!!!11!

If you're adverse to LOUD sound, bring some earplugs and make sure to empty your bowels before getting down here as, ideally, there will be 400watts of HEAVY DUTY BASS SOUND OF THE ROARING SEA! Perhaps we may even be able to make out what Mr Clooney's character is saying about the fish, the sea, the boat, and *the womens*!

Roooooaaaaaaarrrrrr!

Okay, this is making me silly.

L8r homes,
Gman - Tue, 24 Jun 2003 2:40pm
geek abroad so? how was the fishing trip? did anyone drown from too much cinematic mist? drunk on Clooney? Choke on fishsticks? please tell . . . - Wed, 25 Jun 2003 11:36am
I Love Fishing Awe inspiring. We started out by eating some fish and chips from newspaper cones, drinking Bud (the choice of discerning fisherfolk everywhere,) and enjoying the fine smell of the ocean courtesy of piles of kelp on the floor and hanging from the walls. No shit.

And the sound was phenomenal! It was like you were right there on the deck of the boat over-acting with all the boys!

Yay! - Wed, 25 Jun 2003 3:30pm

It was so fun we are now calling it "Shit Corridor" (as contrasted with the "Shock Corridor" which actually shows worthwhile films) and are debating which will be next:

Armageddon
*or*
Starship Troopers

Personally, I think Starship Troopers would be fantastic!

Gman - Wed, 25 Jun 2003 5:52pm
ryan bill I agree Grayson.
Starship Troopers has my vote.
it has that wicked co-ed shower scene.

However, I have had second thoughts on the name "shit corridor" simply because Allen may find that it belittles his popular Shock Corridor screenings. I just don't think that is the kind of insensitive attitude that we ought to take with our film showcases. - Wed, 25 Jun 2003 6:25pm

Well I guess that might make him angry or even standoffish...

How about "Schlock Corridor?" THAT IS PERFECT!

Co-ed shower scene? I dunno what movie you saw, Bubb, but the title was probably something more like "Ryan and the Naked Girly Girls Take a Shower Together for your Erotic Entertainment."

Jesus, and I just ate.
Gman - Wed, 25 Jun 2003 6:50pm
ryan bill oh grayson..i assure you, you will eat those words when you see the co-ed shower scene. - Wed, 25 Jun 2003 7:42pm
