| Lucy Fur | Bealzbub. She is in a band called The Perish. They came to this site months ago bragging about their band and show that were going to come out and blow away everyone in the scene. The thing is, they'd never played live. They went so far as to claim to have a tour booked across Canada that was already sold out. They did this to try and 'fool' people into thinking they were missing out on something huge. And they acted like they were that huge. In reality they had no shows booked. They got slagged badly for that one. In retribution, to 'prove' themselves, they rented Queen Elizabeth Theatre for their World Debut Show. They bragged about how they needed the QE to hold all of their fans ( even though they had NEVER played a show ) and then they set ticket prices at $38 each. Furthermore, an article in Monday went out in which The Perish were interviewed. They once again stuck their foots in their mouths and even went so far as to say this show wasnt for the people of Victoria, but the industry bigwigs who were coming ( you know, the ones who were too good for that weekends New Music West in Vancouver.. ) In the end they were handing out freeby tix on the street. I didnt go, but I hear that maybe 50 people did go. Nobody has heard back from them since that crushing World Debut, and they have ceased to exist on this board except in mocking memory. - Fri, 30 May 2003 3:54pm | ||

| sum guy | I have met C.B., . I think she is a nice enough person. But I must say that when I saw that picture (long before their 'World Debut'), and the proud list of accomplishments... mainly to do with appearing in &/or winning various wet t-shirt contests and 'exotic' dancing it was a premonition of disasters yet to come. Seeing their show confirmed it. And things I have heard prior & since that now infamous show make me believe that one if not both are seriously deluded. The only credit I can give is they have created quite a bit of contraversy, anda famous expression goes something like... no such thing as bad advertising. If only they had been a little more humble prior to show, perhaps had a lower key debut, charged less... then they might actually have been able to carry the 'act' on.
