Keyboard player with vocals wanted for 80`s new wave cover band. All members are accomplished, in their 30`s and 40`s , experienced, professional, day jobs , kids etc., easy on the egos, looking for player male or female, as long as you have the chops, sequencing and "authentic" sounds required. Cover tunes include Talking Heads, Devo , Elvis Costello, Soft Cell , etc. This will be a fun working band, serious enquires only. - Wed, 28 May 2003 5:17pm
keyboard man How often do you guys rehearse, and how often will you gig? - Thu, 29 May 2003 3:52pm
wave rave Hey Keyboard Guy, could you e-mail us at href='http://[email protected]' http://[email protected]<' target='_blank'>target='_blank'>http://[email protected]</a> and we`ll fill you in on the details. - Thu, 29 May 2003 6:59pm
Anonymous that was wacky, one of those will do! - Thu, 29 May 2003 7:04pm

keyboard man Actually, I'm not into sequencing too much, so will respectfully pass. - Fri, 30 May 2003 9:44am
Anonymous 80`s new wave , what a cool idea. - Sat, 31 May 2003 12:16pm
Anonymous still looking - Sun, 1 Jun 2003 11:48am
gup Sequencing blows - why do you guys want sequencing for God's sake? - Sun, 1 Jun 2003 3:11pm
wave rave Well we figured for the "fluff" rock stuff, like Hungry Like Thw Wolf, Tainted Love, You Spin Me Round, etc. alot of the repetative keyboard stuff was sequenced. If someone can do that stuff off the cuff, then who needs it right?
Alot of people might say "Hey this music sucks" but believe me there is going to be a huge 80`s revival, once everyone gets tired of the 70`s stuff, so if you play keys and you like the 8o`s new wave music, we really don`t care if you can sequence or not as long as the tunes sound authentic. - Sun, 1 Jun 2003 3:38pm
gup I see - well, yes, you have a point. - Sun, 1 Jun 2003 8:07pm

Anonymous Based on your song selection (Duran Duran, etc.) my question is - are you guys into anal intercourse?

Just askin'. - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 8:04pm
wave rave Now now, let`s not get personal. it may seem like homo music, but women love this stuff. I`d rather play to a bunch of gyrating women than to a bunch of Labbatts Blue swilling guys any day. Besides the Talking Heads and Devo are pretty rockin` bands. Note I did say "fluff" rock when I mentioned Duran Duran. We had to draw the line with Culture Club and Whamm though! - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 8:23pm
protological analysis no properly read posting on this site goes without at least one mention of the word 'anal' - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 12:20am
wave rave The point i'm trying to make here is that I want to play this sort of music because (here's the good part) I'm gay. What kind of real man would really be in to this crap, I mean come on!

Look the real reason I'm starting this band is because i'm looking for a life partner. If you like playings 80s and you also like some steamy sex, just send a email right away! - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 4:24am
real wave rave once again someone on this idiot message board has to put in their 2 cents worth. Look we`re looking for a keyboard player , not a trip down the hershy highway. What the hell are you doing up at 2:30 a.m. on a wed. morn? Just got back from breaking into cars cuz your welfare cheque is gone? - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 8:06am
real wave rave OK, OK, I confess. I am really the first guy (gay sex friendly etc.) So sue me... or better yet, become the keyboard player in my band. (Note: Long, nimble fingers a plus). - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 9:12am
bad idea? so maybe looking for a real musician on this site is a bad idea? - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 1:17pm
tired of assholes I knew it was a mistake to try and find a real musician on this site, frankly I`m surprised it took so long before the bullshit started, at least if you`re going to be a dick ,use your own alias, or are you such a dumbass you can`t figure one out? - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 2:02pm

It looks like you may have completely given up already, but just in case...
I'm a bit younger than you guys, but it sounds like we're in similar places, work, kids. And I'm very big on the 80's new wave. I make music very much inspired by that scene, Go to http://www.mp3.com/wherever for some older samples of stuff i made by myself. I can play, I can sequence, but I definately need some practice with both. Singing however, I can do. plus I own an mc 303 groovebox, which lends itself towards the new wave synth pop very nicely.

I look forward to your response. - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 5:24pm
Anonymous And your alias is "Tired of Assholes"?

Asshole. - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 7:35pm
Anonymous why so bitter? is it because you have a small penis? - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 7:56pm
Anonymous `But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
Alice didn't think that proved it at all; however, she went on` And how do you know that you're mad?'
`To begin with,' said the Cat, `a dog's not mad. You grant that?'
`I suppose so,' said Alice.
`Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.' - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 8:42pm
Anonymous wow, how profound, I guess there is a glimmer of intelligence out there, thanks. - Thu, 5 Jun 2003 8:03am
