| BillyBob | True Story of Head Punching at The Teahouse! (some details changed to protect the head getting punched) Okay, so there was a benefit show. It was for a guy named, let's say, Vinnie. So Vinnie was to work the door. Towards the last couple of songs of the night, he decided to go downstairs to hear the band a bit. No biggie - someone else had the cashbox covered. Vinnie's down there enjoying the tunes. Groovy. Allofasudden, one of the owners, who we will call Not-Jana, runs across the room and grabs Vinnie, drags him to the stairs, up the stairs, by the head! There is a brief altercation (no head punching yet,) then Not-Jana takes off outside. Vinnie is, like, what the hell is going on here? Moments later, Not-Jana comes back inside. Vinnie says "Hey, that was totally uncalled for." and (here it comes!) Not-Jana LUNGES across the room and PUNCHES VINNIE IN THE HEAD! IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! JUST LIKE THAT! Then he runs away. So the other owner, let's call her Not-Trevor, is like "Not my problem. None of my business" and basically does not give a shit that: Her co-owner has just punched Vinnie in the head for no reason on the night of a show in Vinnie's benefit in their quite and somewhat illegal little place! | I wasn't there either | BillyB, You seem sort of concerned and that's nice. I don't think you see why so many people here take issue with the way you are complaining about this event. Did you think you would topple the evil empire known as the Tea House or draw attention to the "illegal" booze can that your pal didn't have an issue with using, before the horrible incident? Why complain here? Go to the Tea House and register your complaint with the owner and ask why such a thing could occur. To make it libel is does have to be true. That means you kinda have to prove it. Since you weren't there, you kinda can't prove it. So why don't you have your pal fight his own battles. Since his big mouth got him punched don't you think it should be his big mouth that complains about it. He didn't seem to have a problem with the "illegal venue" when he was using it to satisfy his own ends. There are always two sides to every issue and we only heard one from you. I think I'll wait for Judge Judy to decide before I cast any stones. I will say this, I don't think violence is very helpful in any situation, but some people need an attitude adjustment from time to time. If you start a post like this, you have to be ready for some opposition. Whether you think a person is intellectually your inferior or not, won't stop people from posting their opinions. | BillyBob User Info... | Howdy, Thank you, Wasn't There Either, for the most sensible posting I've seen here yet. I have to disagree with you on my motives for posting here. I've never said that Vinnie was my friend. My intent is not to slander - the facts I've presented here are corroborated by numbers people who were there, and in fact, you'll see a few people posting here who claim to have been there. (In fact, one post claiming to be Vinnie.) My bafflement with this behaviour comes from the fact that the Teahouse is a small, even homey little place which should be comfortable and community oriented. If this was the Cambie, you certainly wouldn't see me posting anything about it. (Not that it wouldn't bother me.) It seems unfortunate that people would simply want things like this to be swept under the carpet, tolerated, whatever. | I wasn't there either | BillyB, you either knew that kid or were that kid in all grades of school, who would do whatever it took to piss off as many people as possible, and then hide behind the old "violence never solved anything" ploy when a beating ensued. Two seconds after being "adjusted" that kid you knew or you, was up and running away, all the while spitting out fuck you's and whatnot and not learning at all from their "adjustment". You know or are the type...pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, smash, oww don't hurt me please, pick, pick, pick. So, "Vinnie" didn't spend the evening being obnoxious or did he? Did he actually do nothing what so ever to provoke some kind of response. As I said before I'd personally rather adjust someone with a non violent approach, but I'm not ruling out the old boot on the backside approach for some people. Also, just because I might choose to talk about it, doesn't mean that everyone thinks that way. Vinnie won't make it very far in life, if he can't assess a situation and see the potential for it to turn ugly. Natural selection at work I'd say. Out with the weak, unobservant genes and on with evolution. Thanks for listening BillyB.
