Judge To Give Ruling On Anti-tent Bylaw

-

Just got an email from the lawyers-

"Hi all,

We just got a call from the Court. The Reasons for Judgment in the case will be released to us at 10:30 a. m. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH. Cathie and I will be at the office to receive the decision by email."

Get your gear ready and meditate on patience. However much bullcrap comes with it, there will be a tent-city and it will be as easy as making a practice of thinking the word 'patience' often. Their office is up just passed Cook on Fort. Other than that, people could meet at the courthouse lawn at noonish. MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY

See you all soon.

This is THE call. Get ready and spread the news.

People who live in tents don't usually frequent message boards. We can thus assume that you posted this not for Victoria's homeless but for regular internet users (read: employed people with homes). Why would you do a thing like that? Address a message to a demographic that it clearly will not reach? Why is it so important that people on this message board think that you are organizing and instructing hordes of homeless people? - Fri, 5 Sep 2008 4:11pm

The fact that those computers are available doesn't make LiveVic a more effective tool for communication between homeless people than simply shouting it out at a shelter or two or three where the intended audience is right in front of you. - Fri, 5 Sep 2008 10:52pm

Conjecturing the Beginning of the Tent-city

thinking of ideals

Seed collection right away, noting the shame of mindlessly discarding good food seeds. ASAP greenhouse for germinating.

Should I offer myself to the chief of police in a display of humility, giving him the option of depriving the movement of a recognizable focal point (me), just so I could talk to him about inevitabilities and the police's contribution to a peace-kept sustainable future. Bill, if I don't see you, I still hope you read this. I'm a spirit guy, Bill, weird but not crazy, and my experiences have lead me to a bunch of big truths that make it so I know most people better than they know themselves. When I see you I do not see a body, I see a spirit and I see enough of it to know who you are. The 'Crown's' reign is ending and we have the harshest of times ahead of us. All is not lost. Survival will be because of friends, and I've found that a solid gentleness does trump the allowance of viciousness... even if I could be taken off my center, I have gone past the point of no return- the thing that I am cannot be content with lies. Freedom is coming, Bill. Do we pass through a government and capitalist attempt to save the economy through martial law, internment and death camps, factory farms and complete enough destruction of nature in its profiteering? Hard to say. I know the 'Crown' isn't worthy to rule you. Patience be with you... now, where was I...

kitchen, outhouse, bulletin board, oil barrel cut lengthwise seemed to work well, sometimes methheads (or is it crackheads... whatever) steal propane stove components.

Set up is done when families can live there.

maybe collect lots of cardboard (like its going to go out of style)

I guess I just wanted to put it out there...

have good days. Monday. Noon. Courthouse lawn to rally before asserting.

False Start- 'Anti-tent' Ruling Still In Reserve (Victoria, BC)

-

The 'decision' that came down was not the ruling but just a notice that some of the province's evidence will not be taken out of the case--- inconsequential, really. So, the ruling is still in reserve. People are still going to meet at the courthouse lawn at noon (36 minutes from now). As it stands, I will not assert myself unless there were 59 who would stand with me (at least until the actual ruling comes out, which still could be forever). In the meantime, I will either be at a tent-city tonight, in jail, or just surviving to continue the legal occupation and recruitment of the '60 warriors' under the windows of the 'Crown' prosecuters office in the library courtyard (during their office hours).

There will be disappointment, yet I believe people will not be too taken aback knowing that the gov't is full of crap.

Patience be with us all. we are still breathing.

Its a weak constitutional challenge that DAJ seeks- the right to adequate food, clothing, and housing already exists and keeping in mind this is a social right its more of a goal than a fundamental human right. He has places to go if he needs to sleep. Moreover the right to sleep argument is very circumstantial-if his life was in jeopardy he could be admitted to a hospital or a emergency shelter. It doesn't follow that sleeping on public property is necessary for his survival. For a person that claims to set aside his ego his cause indeed strikes me as being very egotistical. - Wed, 10 Sep 2008 12:40am

So DAJ, as you keep dodging the issue I will pose my question again in this topic; yet another one about your cause, whipped up so industriously. As you are clearly responding to people in this thread, I hope you will finally indulge me.

Everyone knows that you can only have 30-40 people taking a crap in the surrounding bushes for so long. I'm sure you must have thought this more practical side of your plan through. What did you have in mind for a sanitation system at these tent cities? - Wed, 10 Sep 2008 11:24am

I dont want to sound like im defending Daj, AT ALL, but its more curiosity than anythying else.
Does human waste have any fertilizing properties like other animal shit does? If so, wouldn't that be a "somewhat" viable way to increase crop growth(provided these idiots DID actualy live in the bush away from a city) both in efficiency and size?

again, Im in no way supporting the cause nor am I ever going to be sympathetic to Daj; but mere curiosity struck me when I thought about living in the bush and using your surroundings to live off.

ps, the spambot test word was DUDU! the question was meant to be!(dont read to far into that comment daj; i couldn't care less what you think) - Wed, 10 Sep 2008 11:36am
