| ricky jak User Info... | Fringe Theatre Festival 2008 Fringe eve preview. I’m 42 years old and through the suggestion of my wife and neighbor decided to check out something new. I have recently opened my mind and put myself in new environments of entertainment and this was one of those evenings….. I usually suit up in dirty jeans and a ripped t-shirt and check out aggressive music and dangerous situations on the dance floor at punk rock or heavy metal shows. Tonight I went to a suit and tie event called the Fringe eve preview night. A small sampling of all the shows featured at this year’s fringe festival. I was still dressed up in dirty jeans and a ripped t-shirt and I stunk because I was still in my work clothes. But hey I’m only 42 and just ain’t ready for a suit. Anyway here’s a little rundown of what was put on stage…… ready! High school, tree dancers singin. Holiday in Cambodia fucking swearing guy. Three women dancing whoshould have been the go-go girls for a DEVO show. Woman yappin about obesity and clay aliens. Blades of fury suited dancers. The woman from Fargo, or at least she talked like her. A robed guy with a dagger that spoke in a language that was ahhh… I just couldn’t understand. Some song and dance routine. Sex girls in Arabic bellies. Russians. Liquor store guitarists. Obama 08 campaign Russians under the sheets. Hot song in lingerie with a huge knife. Save the environment with the girl wearing the same dress my wife graded in. Techno Barney dinosaur love gangster. Farmer. Man acting like a kid then playing some liquor store acoustics. Musical maidens man bashing and chatter a good laugh. Jackass letter writing to legit companies and the response from these companies. Grown woman acting like a kid with a dead animal in a box. Hamlet slagger wanting to know what the hell is this crap. Tippi Seagram, cougar and teller of tales. Sprocket skinny Charles Atlas tale told with no pants on. Follies in a gown and woman chat. Huge afro guy who did a little stand-up comedy that I’m still laughing over. Then just like in the end of a movie where the credits roll a guy with an acoustic guitar played a folk type song. Performers from all over! Then it was over. Like I said this was just snippets of the some 26 ish show that will be featured august 31-31. Now the whole evening was MC’d by a loud guy named John G Bohme and a couple of times when he was announcing one particular venue he would emphasize that it was beside Montys….. the place stayed quiet and I got to realize possibly most of this Fringe suited crowd had probably never been to Montys. A showroom that hosts multitudes of shows a day but all of the nude variety. Maybe worth checkin out also???? Yet again Fringe is art and Montys is….. well, art too.
