raid Can they accually play radiohead? That shit's pretty hard to play. - Mon, 12 May 2003 12:30pm
Justin I think i've seen them before, and yes they can play radiohead fairly well... if its the band i am thinking of, they fit quite well with the sound of radiohead... it is kinda hard shit to play too - Mon, 12 May 2003 1:01pm
Anonymous It's not really that hard to play but, it would be hard to sound like radiohead. I'm going to check out the show for sure. - Mon, 12 May 2003 8:08pm
Anonymous THEY ARE AMAZING.

If you are a Radiohead fan, DO NOT MISS! - Mon, 12 May 2003 8:17pm

Anonymous The singer sounds like thom yorke. Every note was hit when I saw them at lucky. They played a flawless set. I'm going to see them again. - Tue, 13 May 2003 12:57pm

If anyone would like to get into the Bends' show at the Upstairs Cabaret (May 21st)for free, please hook me up with a Boss PS-2! I will buy it and use it with happiness AND glee.... - Wed, 14 May 2003 1:57pm
gawd Nothing like seeing a bunch of people devote their time to covering other bands songs. Wow...the creativity is just flowing in this city... - Thu, 15 May 2003 1:50am
Anon386 Well Gawd, if you only took the time to research the band. The bends are largely made up of memebers from JAF with all musicians performers in local independent bands of all original music. Covering music is not my thing either but you have to admire the peculiar choice of band that they chose to cover. - Thu, 15 May 2003 3:19am
Japanese Air Force I'm not one to go out of my way to start cover bands, I enjoy the freedom of being able to write original music and my own part.

The bends project has been an fun distraction from some of the lows that come with playing in an original band. Plus the work that has been put into learning the parts has made me a far better player than I was a few months ago.

It's been a great experience for the band as a whole and I'm glad we did it. We've been re-energized and inspired by what we've learned. I don't expect the bends to exist for any extended period of time, because all of us do enjoy making original music so much.

If you think cover bands are a bad idea, I generally agree with you. Covers are a necessary evil that one often needs to use to make an initial connection with your audience and your own music. That being said, if you like Radiohead, or just like watching a good show, please come check us out.

Our first priority, in either band, has always been to put on the best show possible. We're all having a blast up there.... and isn't that what we're all doing this for, when it comes right down to it?

Cover me monkey First of all devoting time to cover one of the best(and hardest bands to cover)in the world deserves some serious credit. Johnny action figure are one of the best bands in the city in my opinion, and the only band in victoria that could cover radiohead. When you think that those guys do two bands... I am personaly impressed. - Thu, 15 May 2003 7:57pm
Anonymous I heard they will be playing lots of newer stuff (fingers crossed) - Sat, 17 May 2003 5:57pm
