I wish , when I went to university and took a couple music credits they have explained to me these genres. After thousands of dollars, my PROFESSOR was only teaching me music, not NEW YORK HARDCORE, fucker owes me my tuition back. So do i have to be from new york, or know some one from new york, or does the band have to be from new york. What if the singer is from new york, and the guitarist is from Minnesota. Do u offer courses in genres??? Or does everyone in here do what I think they do......Just place ads with impossible to label genres, so no one could possible know what they mean, or IF THEY DO, they have an easy way out with "sorry dude, but you are more a "Cinncinatti Hardcore ".WHEN in actual fact, you suck so much, you couldnt possibly back up what you say in your ads through your guitar playing and dont want to ruin your "godly" presence on live vic. | ROSS B AY User Info... | Of course, sure, 10 years ago. things have advanced some since then. Snapcase were from Buffalo and went to NY to get it going. Same with Hatebreed from New Haven. Was a time when Misfits meant NYHC, Helmet too. That's when I started listening. Biohazard, Anthrax, S.O.D. and other such big name bands helped move the stuff from the 80's to the nineties, and now most of those bands are finished or retired or whatever. There's a new wave of the shit going on right now that's getting heavier and heavier, while keeping the punk roots alive and well. Sworn Enemy are a good example of this. The old school stuff like Murphy's Law, etc...has become the old school NYHC for a reason. Their heyday was 10 years ago. We're interested the new sound coming out of there these days.
