Ok, I personally don't care if woman breast-feed their babies in public. But this picture has a toddler getting a drink! I have a problem with that! Unless it's a really big baby. - Thu, 7 Aug 2008 4:26pm Edited: Thu, 7 Aug 2008 4:27pm

This article was in the T.C today, some chick was asked to use a changeroom to breast feed her baby, so all the moms in the pic above proetested by feeding their babies in that same store!...I just noticed the big kid attached to the mom in the green shirt and figured I post a "bounce" bitch!...I figured I haven't annoyed anyone in a long time! i'm due...lol.. - Thu, 7 Aug 2008 6:41pm

I think you might be grossly over estimating the age of that baby.
My girl is about that size and she's 9.5 months old. And she's small for her age.

Oh wait I just double checked the pic. Are you refering to the woman in the green who is sitting down? I thought you were talking about the woman front and center.

Meh I couldn't care less. You wanna nurse your teenager in public - Go for it. I am starting the slow wean now that wiggles has 5 teeth.

I forgot all about that protest. Otherwise I very well might have been in that pic. I strongly believe we should be able to feed our babies anywhere we please. It's hardly indecent. - Thu, 7 Aug 2008 11:03pm

Some cultures breastfeed much longer past our urban western society's standards. There's also a study in the UVic library proposing that the act produces an subconscious Oedipal complex. My point? I don't really have one, other than that the issue is more complicated than a simple "that baby looks too old." But considering your previous argument against bicycles, I should have expected it. - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 3:48am

I think it's selfish on the mom's part! All it is I’m sure is the mom trying to hold on to babyhood.... we don't live in a society where we need to feed our babies for long because we don't have food...I stopped my son at 6 months because he got a tooth...lol...but everyone’s different...I understand that...I knew a lady who had 4 kids and she was in her late 30's, she breast fed her son (4th kid) until he was 3 1/2.... that was sick dude, I would be over visiting and her kid would throw a temper tantrum...and she would whip out a tit to shut him up!....what the hell is that?...it's wrong that’s my point!...and about the cyclist thing Tyler...get over it...your lucky I haven't posted to that thread lately because I have at least 20 more bonehead cyclist incidents to date!....I haven't killed on yet...but the day is still young! - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 7:50am

I brestfeed mine till about one year old, he weaned himself off and I lost the tits for my efforts, Oh well. The benefits of breastfeeding are incredibly good for a baby.

Lots of Mom's tho take it too far............3 1/2 is way too long. However it's a personal choice for each women. - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 8:27am

Why do you care how long anyone breast feeds for? Why is it your right to say it is "wrong"?
Have you heard of "to each their own"?
You're just as bad as the women who get mad at mother's who choose to formula feed instead of breast feed.
Do what you want with your kid and remember that everyone is different and rightfully so.

Don't get on my case about child abuse because I'm clearly saying that parents have the right to raise their kids how they want. Abuse is another issue entirely. - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 1:49pm

Eons ago this girl in one of my UVIC classes tried to put up a case about the legitimacy of breast feeding a child when he/she's as old as eight or nine. She got derisively laughed at. Do you still feel "to each one's own" in this case, Dumpstermesh? I think such kids run the risk of becoming dweeb-like runt-fucks. - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 5:46pm

It is totally up to each parent and child to decide when it is time to quit. Why is 3 1/2 "way too old"?

6 months is way too young. Everyone in their right mind knows that. lol. - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 6:01pm

Yup. I have no plans to BF past a year but I don't care if that's how someone else wants to do it.
It's none of my business. And it's just silly getting all worked up about it.
As for the "legitimacy" of it. That is a weird arguement. It's not a major source of nourishment for the child at that point but it is comforting for them and they will eventually give it up. And I might look twice if I saw a nine year old on the boob at the mall but I don't think I'd care. It's a hell of a lot better than watching a frustrated mother pull and drag her bawling child through the mall spouting off threats.

I think it's funny that Bounce thinks I'm in need of mellowing out. I only brought up child abuse because I could just hear her coming back at my comment about "do what you want with your kid" with a comment about child abuse so it was a pre-emptive strike.

Honestly I just don't see the point in saying that so and so is "wrong" for BF'ing their kid longer than average.
How does it effect you? Can we just move on now? - Fri, 8 Aug 2008 9:20pm

Yes...I have moved on, just stating my opinion! And usually my opinion offends at least one person.... I know it's none of my business how long someone breast feeds for and like I said before, "everyone’s different". Different cultures/religions, beliefs...and it's not my place to tell people what to do....and i'm not really trying to..however ..I don't want to see a toddler getting fed in public.... that’s all! - Sun, 10 Aug 2008 2:09pm
