Trailer Park Boy Julian Great show by a great band!! Unfortunately, I only caught the last song of the opening band (don't even know their name!?!), but that song sounded very enticing... I'd like a chance to check 'em out again. The Sadies played a long set that spanned all their albums ('cept, unfortunately, "Red Dirt" - someday I'd LOVE to hear 'em, or someone else, play "Pardon Me (I've Got Someone to Kill)") and other than that they played all that I could've wanted to hear. Unfortunately, although Logan's was pretty full the crowd lacked energy - in a serious way!! What's with sitting down at a show - I don't get it.... Anyway, The Sadies were awesome and if you've never seen or heard them, and you're a fan of ol' school country, spaghetti western's, surf, and instrumentals etc, do yourself a favour and check 'em out.... - Fri, 2 May 2003 4:49am
Anonymous Logans is a great venue and has been hosting a lotta great bands. I still don't like the name change but hey, it's your name and I ain't slaggin' =+) - Fri, 2 May 2003 4:04pm
Anonymous anyone else see this show? - Fri, 2 May 2003 7:15pm
Anonymous 3rd time seeing these guys play. Every time they put on a great show. - Sat, 3 May 2003 6:23pm
ho hum Yeah, it wasn't great. I saw them last time and they were way better. They seemed road-worn or something... they were tight, but the guy introduced every single song the same way: "thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, thank you, now the sadies would like to play for a song called..." Once he said, in the same monotone that made it seem like he was reading from a teleprompter, "thank you very much ladies and gentlemen, it's wonderful to be here at Logans" Uh, yeah... that wasn't very sincere. At one point he was like "thank you very much ladies and gentlemen, the sadies would now like to play ten more songs for you" and there was a collective silent moan. The band didn't have much energy, and it was contagious. For those who haven't seen them before, though, I still highly recommend it. - Sat, 3 May 2003 7:30pm
Anonymous In a way I sort of liked the monotone in between song thing. There weren't that many people there, and those who were were weird at first. The whole sitting down thing. It's not Hayden. Cuff The Duke was great. - Sat, 3 May 2003 7:39pm
Trailer Park Boy Julian Shit... this is ol' hat but... dude (or dudette) who complained about the monotone delivery of the Good brother's between song banter - you don't know shit... when I first saw 'em play... openin' AND playin' backup for Neko Case in '98 at the Starfish Room in Van... they delivered the between song banter eeeeeexactly the same way, "thank you, thank you very much...." in the BEST tradition of Elvis... shiiiate mang... I'm listenin' to "You're Easy on the Eyes" as I type this.... - Fri, 16 May 2003 5:41am
PinK Pussy Het there if you like the Sadies they are playing in Vancouver next week with the flaming Lips and two other bands. It should be dope. - Fri, 16 May 2003 6:51am
correction guy Yes, I would agree that the sadies are "dope" but they're not playing with the Flaming Lips in Vancouver. Sorry about that. The line up is Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Liz Phair, Destroyer, Starlight Mints. - Sat, 17 May 2003 11:15am
