Livevic Scott User Info... | Yeah it sucks that Big D & The Kids table arn't playing... it sucks more that Bigwig and Belvedere arn't playing either like on 90% of the Canadian dates. - Tue, 8 Apr 2003 6:21pm
Anonymous | Ska??? What the fuck is up with that shit??? - Tue, 8 Apr 2003 10:48pm
Anonymous | some ska is good but this band is nothing but third rate third wave canadian ska for 13 yr old mall girls...this band should break up now - Tue, 8 Apr 2003 11:29pm
Anonymous | wow so the hoochys got booted off the bill and king bong got to take their place? - Tue, 8 Apr 2003 11:42pm
SweetGrass | I thought we were playing with the Hootchies too, of course I get most of my information from a monkey!?! - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 2:46am
Dane User Info... | Are the Hoochy Girls really bumped from the bill? I hope not. It would have been such a good show for them to play. - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 4:52am
King Bong User Info... | Actually when Scott first approched us he told us we would be playing with the Hotchies...which is cool ..we have supported them in Nanaimo and they are a great band...a couple of nights ago I was talking with Scott and he told me that the Hootchies were off and that Planet Smashers were bringing an opener along..frankly I'm suprised that they are even allowing three bands on the bill..but I'm happy that we got to stay on too! I don't know what happened with that whole process but perhaps Dane could put the Hootchies on the Skatalites bill...? Then Vic Ska would be represented at both big shows!!! C'mon Dane the Hootchies Rock!!! Sticky Kola - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 11:59am
good thing | good think King Bong muscled their way on to that bill. From what what I heard The Hoochys had this show a long time ago when it was still at soundgarden. As far as I know they've been around a few years more then King Bong as well - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:13pm
Gare User Info... | Wow I and thought having no Big D and The Kids Table sucked - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:15pm
hoochy sax andy | yeah if that's the truth I'm pretty fukin peeved (no offense to king bong) but we definitely had our sights set on this show for a while now. Just because it got moved from SG to Steamer's shouldn't mean we get the boot. - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:32pm
sorta funny | Its almost funny how how the only band left thats in the actual title of this post is The Planet Smashers - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:32pm
Gare User Info... | Yeah Andy I'm a bit ticked myself. Has anyone else in the band heard the news yet? it sucks no one has the decency to call us and we have to read it off of live vic. - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:38pm
King Bong User Info... | Look, with all due respect to the Hootches..we were asked to support the Hootches and the Planet Smashers for $100 bucks and beer, just to add a little more Vic ska flavour to the show..we of course said yes as we love both bands and as I said before we have supported the Hootchies in Nanaimo and had a blast...next time I talked to the promoter the show was moved to Steamers and we were opening for the opener being brought in by the Planet Smashers ..still $100 and beer, So as far as Bong forcing their way on to the bill whoever said that can bite me, you have no idea what your talking about and your a dick. And just for the record Bong has exsisted in one form or another since 1999, we have opened for King Apparatus, Easy Big Fella, Kiltlifters, Clinton Fearon, Hounds of Buskerville, and along with the Bloodwarmers were one of the only two true working Victoria based Ska bands on the first Ska Fest Bill. Again, taking nothing away from the Hootches as we would have been happy to open for them, but this is not our show and we don't make those decisions..but if you think we are not gonna take the opportunity...your fucking nuts. Sticky Kola - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 4:05pm
Anonymous | You ska fools should really stick together... - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 7:03pm
Mark Wallace (Bass Hoochy) User Info... | I thought we were on that bill for months...? - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 7:10pm
Anonymous | KB's a joke... that guy is the most pompous individual. - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 9:26pm
Anonymous | Have you ever seen King Bong? - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 10:19pm
Bong Fan | Fuck you anon asshole, you're a gut less bitch,,anyone in this town will tell you that KB is one of the nicest, professional outfits in BC..ask any band that they have worked with, ask any soundman or bar owner they will be happy to confirm that. Oh, and they fucking rip, and just so you know there is no actual King Bong moron..if you are refering to the front man, Sticky Kola...he has the best voice in this town, is very friendly to everyone except whiney, snotty, chicken shit fucks like you and many of the scenesters that you hang out with..what's wrong, not old enough to get into a KB show ?....Don't worry it's all above your head anyway.... Perhaps in a couple of years eh boy..... Oh and don't come to the show asshole you will need ID, fucking jerk off. - Wed, 9 Apr 8:55pm - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 11:07pm
PLaya Hata | Dude, I don't know what all the hating is for. I'm in the Hoochy Girls, and as of yesterday, Tamara from SG emailed me confirming our participation. So really there's nothing to frett about. Let's all settle this with some apple pie. - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 11:52pm
Dorks | Now I'm really wondering what the fucking story is with you "ska dudes". - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 11:56pm
Mark Wallace (Bass Hoochy) User Info... | mmmm... pie at adams house - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 11:58pm
andrew User Info... | mmm...adam's pie...(no sexual connotation intended) - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 2:04am
andrew User Info... | andy here. good to hear, adam. now we just need to start figuring out some smashers covers... - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 2:24am
King Bong User Info... | Finally some sense here...as usual the Hootchys are classy and calm...as I said before..we have supported the Hootchys before and had a blast, we came on board under the impression that that is what was happening again, the confusion around this thing was crazy and once again an idot anaon chicken shit poster took the opportunity to shit on people...it's sad really, do you think some coments on a message board can really have any effect on a bands ability to play shows, create music, etc. grow up, do you know how many bands and players don't and won't have anything to do with this site? I look forward to this amazing Ska weekend, even if KB was not playing and I intend to enjoy both this show and the Skatalites.... Cheers Sticky Kola - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 11:45am
Anonymous | B-U-M-M-E-R!!!!! I really wanted to see the Planet Smashers, but I'll be on the road.....sigh! I should have stayed with the ska band (ha, ha - oh well!) - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 1:32pm
