This is going to be one hell of a show and it would have been a great opportunity to expose themselves to a crowd down here larger than their close friends. They take their music VERY seriously so it is important for them to have certain conditions met in order for them to have the environment they need for thier show. Unfortunately the fans in this situation were overlooked and miss out. Bands live and learn and I can guarantee they will regret missing this show for some time. (As I will continuously remind them heheh. | SOS Jesse | Just thought I'd drop in a note about our withdrawing from the show. The problem is, we were told there was a total of forty minutes for set up, playing and tear down. The fastest our drummer could set up his kit, WITH our drum tech is twenty minutes and even then it would be a rushed job. So basically, we would get a fifteen minute set and then have to tear down. That's unrealistic, it would make absolutely no logical sense whatsoever to travel all the way to brentwood from Nanaimo to play a fifteen minute set, which is two of our songs. Will we regret our decision? Absolutely not. If people want to hear a fifteen minute set, they might as well just listen to a couple of MP3 tracks on our website. | Cruiser | Your best bet if you don't have a map, is to the follow the signs directing you to the Swartz Bay ferry up highway 17 at first, then as you're heading north, take the exit for Royal Oak. Just at the top of the exit, take the left to put you onto the overpass over the highway (the highway you just exited). Follow Royal Oak Ave. for a bit until West Saanich Road (aka Highway 17A), take a right onto that. Follow that for 5km or so until you get to a little town-looking area called Brentwood Bay. | Cruiser | You will also be passing the turnoff for Butchart Gardens as you go along West Saanich Road so don't turn off West Saanich until you've passed Butchart Gardens. It's not long after that. When they are on Royal Oak Dr. they will continue straight up through the lights at Wilkinson and it is at that intersection that they continue straight through, not turn. Royal Oak Dr. becomes West Saanich Rd...the road planners in Vic smoked alot of everything. The rest sounded dead on.
