Nothing like sitting for fifty five minutes at Spencer road to raise one's homicidal urges towards hippies. - Sat, 16 Feb 2008 11:01am

4x4's, shotguns loaded with rubber bullets and attack dogs.
This would fix the problem fairly quickly. - Sat, 16 Feb 2008 12:59pm

I'm not clicking that link for fear of getting Rick rolled.
"Attack dogs" ??? Cmon, leave the dogs out of it.

Why this hatred towards "hippies" and love for the suits and cops? How can people blindly trust these sociopaths? What are you getting out of this? Nothing. Just more congestion and less trees. - Sat, 16 Feb 2008 2:20pm Edited: Sat, 16 Feb 2008 2:34pm

Nobody trusts them. Just as nobody likes hippies. I dislike police almost as much as I'd like to baton a dirty hippy like I was Mark Maguire. Seperate but equal. - Sat, 16 Feb 2008 2:35pm Edited: Sat, 16 Feb 2008 2:36pm

I think people hate pretentiousness, and self righteousness.
It's to bad. The front line of these "actions" are always manned by the people people like to hate.
I think I saw Taro's cousin in that piece. - Sat, 16 Feb 2008 2:47pm

Well said. I think that it is correct to say that both police and hippies posess the lovable qualities of pretentiousness and self righteousness. That always leads to fun. - Sat, 16 Feb 2008 3:02pm Edited: Sat, 16 Feb 2008 3:02pm

Maybe, but if all they can do is bring attention to it, thats making it about a billion times more likely it'll spur someone/something in their favor.

Why not attack dogs? Gives them something constructive to do.
For me, when I see hippies protesting, I automatically side with their opposition. Something about self-righteous know-it-all-nothings makes me angry. - Mon, 18 Feb 2008 1:12pm Edited: Mon, 18 Feb 2008 1:12pm

I can understand the use of dogs as a deterrent, but not as a weapon. That's all.

As far as the "hippies" go, I think they deserve some respect. They have for all intents and purpose sacrificed themselves to the very noble cause of environmentalism. With their criminal records of civil disobedience, and unkempt appearance, not to mention smell, they have alienated themselves from society as a whole and all the perks and benefits that go with it. Their methods may bother people but they are the ones that get the stories on the news.
Noble warriors I say.

The world is getting very over populated and as Canadians I think the onus is on us to steward what is left of the earths wilderness and biodiversity in northern North America. - Mon, 18 Feb 2008 11:10pm

Are you serious? Do you really believe that?

Most every shit staining hippie I know is just a lazy fuck who would rather live in the dirt and blame the "man" than suck it up and work (hard) for a living. - Tue, 19 Feb 2008 7:47am

If she were innocent, I might consider it. But I wouldn't be a hippy about it.
I think the hippies who protest everything have really worn out their impact. People see them and tend to get annoyed more than concerned about the cause.
I blame the hippies for the indifference of the public. - Tue, 19 Feb 2008 3:50pm Edited: Tue, 19 Feb 2008 3:52pm

It seems the only people who can get anything done regarding land, use of it and ownership are tribes such as Saanich, so the chief is definitely on to something when he says his people need to take action on the situation. Unfortunately, speaking up accomplishes nothing with the government 99% of the time.
Covered faces and AK-47s behind a roadblock will get some attention. Like that'll happen.
Guess the interchange is a done deal. Feet dragging on the against side is to blame. - Wed, 20 Feb 2008 7:25pm Edited: Wed, 20 Feb 2008 7:28pm
