Genghis Tron is a wickid awesome band name! I will check them out right now.

And big Yes for Scissorfight and Bootsy Collins.
I'm pretty sure George Thorogood and the Destroyers came a while back... I'm not good with time but I know I saw them once recently enough. And it was terrible. The opener (who I forget the name of... blues guy from up island... good shit) was very good and sounded good. George Thorogood was just as good, but tried to sound more rockin by cranking everything louder. Well, it ended up sounding like shit because all the speakers were crapping out. It was quite the shame. - Wed, 9 Jan 2008 5:21pm

I saw Thourogood at the Alberta Classic Rock fest and it kicked ass.. he had a ton of energy.. mind you there were 30 000 people there so that may have inspired him to be a maniac onstage.

Curmudgeon.. ELO were amazing.. I didnt 'know' a single song by them but recognized every tune they played.. the musicanship was extremely good, the talent level in that band on stage was something else and the electric violinist was a maniac.

Deep Purple were all original members with the exception of Blackmore who was replaced by Steve Morse. Ian Gillans voice was in top form and John Lord's massive Hammond organ could send shivers down a dead mans spine.. they did a solo-off competiton between Morse, Lord and Gillan using his voice to do solo's... One of the best live performances Ive seen ever.. out of what.. 1000's !

Its funny, Ive tried to watch other modern performances by DP on youtube.. Ian looks like an old grandpa now and hardly moves. John Lord is like 80 years old and retired.. amazing what a diff 10 years makes, not to mention the energy a band radiates when there's 30 000 drunk maniacs in the audience under the Alberta night sky hehe - Mon, 11 Feb 2008 11:32am Edited: Mon, 11 Feb 2008 11:36am
