| Austin [hates you] User Info... | so, i'd been hearing stuff about this band for a bit, and all the "cool" hardcore kids were into them, so i figured fuck it, fired up soulseek, and downloaded it. thank fucking christ, because if i had actually bought this foul piece of shit, i would have swam to england just to demand my money back. personally, i STILL think i paid too much for it. since when does being "artistic" mean ripping off other bands? and i'm talking blatantly ripping them off, too. we've got hectic up tempo time changes, ala botch, singy/screamy/speaky vocals, courtesy of at the drive in, and some of the worst lyrics ever, courtesy of...most punk rock and hardcore. ok, i'll give them that. STILL. the one song that stood out to me, "abandon ship", is a blatant comeback kid rip off. jesus. do these guys have ANY original ideas of their own? at all? ever? no, wait, their english. they're used to going to other places and raping natural resources for their own use (BAZING). and the lyrics. i mentioned this before, but fuck me. "here i lie, in the belly of a shark. it's fucking cold, it's fucking dark." REPEAT. oh sweet jesus. as a writer, i'm insulted. as a human being i'm bored. avoid this band. avoid people who LIKE this band. avoid anyone who LOOKS like this band. this is the sound that art makes as it dies, condensed into 13 songs. - Sun, 16 Dec 2007 9:43am Edited: Sun, 16 Dec 2007 9:45am | ||
