nice site, the only thing i found to be a bit confusing is the first page with the flash intro is long(but well done) though some people would be searching for an enter button if they didn't/dont realise to scroll down in the midst of the intro. Maybe if you made that page without the scroll down to skip the intro or perhaps give a better indication that there is a way to "skip" the intro if someone wanted. Aside from that everything looks pretty cool, nice photography and the likes. Good work. - Thu, 15 Nov 2007 2:30pm

thanks.
could you tell me what browser you were using?
thanks.

will get on that right away.

EDIT: it may be because your screen resolution is really low. I still dont know how to SCALE my page rather than make it a certain size. but i will try.
thanks for the comps. - Thu, 15 Nov 2007 8:14pm Edited: Thu, 15 Nov 2007 8:16pm

no prob's man. Im using firefox, and my screen res is on the highest my monitor and vid card can display... 1440x900 i believe.
But it could've been my browser, ya never know.
If I can, I'll ask a couple "page-makers" i know to see if they can offer advice(though im sure you have your reserve of techies to ask). - Mon, 19 Nov 2007 11:21am

oh well, it's going to be ubber updated in about 4 months with a super overhaul by a real designer, so until then I guess this works.... - Mon, 19 Nov 2007 2:56pm

id say if the 'skip intro' button was the only inherint problem; then your doin' just fine. It could very well be my computer that was messin' with things too. Every cpu is different to a degree. - Wed, 21 Nov 2007 2:44pm

if you have time, check it out again, i think it's ready for the big web now.
i made it so not everything is a slideshow.
it's a film strip and a slideshow.

tried to bring down the bandwidth too for faster downloading.

thanks - Thu, 22 Nov 2007 4:01pm

Nevermind, I just asked if you were a tattoo artist in another post.
Nice site, definatley some kinks, but nothing that doesn't come with a new page, or that can't be fixed.
A couple of the peoples names wouldnt come up for me, such as Marianne, etc, and after viewing musicians, and attepting to view nudes and erotica, it kept showing me musicians.
Nice job tho, and good luck.
If I ever recieve the scanner on order (2 mo. now and counting) I'd love to share photography... - Thu, 22 Nov 2007 11:44pm

Thanks kimberley.
I owe ya.

I fixed those kinks as far as I can tell.
For some reseon the website program I use defaults to the musician page when I fuck up.

Thanks to JDL as well for your help.
I THINK that the website is ready, but I have a heap of shoots to do this weekend and then add more.... Which means more kinks. I think i'll have to add different sections like portraits or kids. - Fri, 23 Nov 2007 6:08pm

the site worked nice and fast at my work computer; no problems on the feedback(i know it wasn't much but glad i could help). You have a nice situation there cuz you can add groups/sections as you go rather than have a "main section" or group where you just add a bunch of stuff and hope the masses can separate the styles themselves. I love the pic of the monkey and the smokes... that's gold! lol. Im sure this is more than just a hobby for you; but Id be willing to grab a print off ya of that pic if possible... its hilarious but well done at the same time. - Sat, 24 Nov 2007 1:41pm

Only one suggestion; In the Intro slide show and to some degree the main site, don't radically change typefaces. Find a slick and clean font that you really like and use it consistently throughout the site. Or, pick one for larger text and one for smaller, but keep it consistent; Never mix Serifs with San-serifs because it adversely affects readability.

Anyway, that's all. I'm glad you are putting some promotion out there. Definately like your photo style.

Suggestions:

1) Get someone with a stronger writing background to write the biography.

"Matteus started photography in high school and never let go of the passion."
^ It's not particularly engaging and really cliché.
"Starting with a Pentax K-1000 and no flash, he would have an eye for gritty black and white pictures that all of his friends and family admired."
^ It uses a gerend, causing a really weak sentence structure. Also there's a logic error in the second part because it forgets to mention that you're the one who took the pictures.

This kind of writing is in your videos section too:
"With years of experience in audio work you can be sure the sound will be crisp and clear."
^ It's not properly written. You never say you're the one with the years of experience.

2) Redesign the look of the text in the "about me" section. If you were to do it in a flash scrollbar kind of thing, you'd be able to anti-alias the text and avoid the 1997 website look. It just looks tacky the way it is right now.

3) Fix the obvious mistakes. In the rates section, "Photography" and "Video" shouldn't be randomly capitalized since they're in the middle of a sentence. Also "editting" should only have one t.

In the biography, "hobbie" isn't a word.

4) Have the contact section retain the sidebar instead of going to a new page.

5) Take out any music that automatically plays. Many people have music already on and you shouldn't intrude on it.

6) What's up with the quote at the top, "Real People, Real Photography"?

7) Since it's a photographer site, people will expect it to have the same keen visual eye. Try incorporating your photographs more places on the site. It really looks like it's following a basic formula right now rather than being an extension of your creative self. - Fri, 30 Nov 2007 5:16am Edited: Fri, 30 Nov 2007 5:18am
