| Darren 13 Flames User Info... | I met Rich downtown close to 20 years ago.Always had great conversations about music.Can't begin to count the great times that I shared with him.Rich was without a doubt my favorite patron at the Icehouse.On several occasions I would let him stay after hours so we could play pool.Me being stone cold sober and hanging out in a pool hall for 10 years still would struggle for a win.Without the slightest doubt one of the kindest hearts ever to grace us.The smile and the nod of his head was heartwarmig today when I was thinkin of him.I have learned over the years to not mourn a loss but celebrate the life.To his family my deepest sympathies.Rest easy my fallen brother.Darren Kitson - Tue, 13 Nov 2007 5:12pm | ||
| babyg User Info... | I met Rich downtown when I was about 18 and he was such an awesome, friendly guy. He came to several of my Brass Rail parties on Scott Street back in the day and we've rolled in the same circle ever since. Nobody any of us know seem to know how to get ahold of Dave Brooks, just that he is working in Alberta somewhere. Someones from Luke's crew may have heard from him though. If anyone reading this board has contact with him it'd be appreciated to pass on the info. People, this thread s about Rich and shouldnt turn into an arguement. Some of these people have known Rich for years and that includes Dave and Max. Some of us remember how close Dave and Rich were. Max and Rich were friends before I knew either of them. Max will spend his birthday as we spread Rich's ashes with his family this weekend. Rich's family do know about this thread so PLEASE keep the personal drama elsewhere. Alot of party's at some of the crazy biker bar's . Hanging out with the big guy ...Chris Brown (RIP) Rich had dissapeared for about three month's so Chris , me , and my bro Ed went to his place he was living. With the horad beast , as he called her. His girl friend would'nt let him leave , Chris was 6"7 and threw him over his shoulder and walked out of the house.. dam funny. threw Rich in the truck ...we went and got all f#%^ up,,that night Rich moved in with Chris. Rich was Riched and big Chris got him up line danceing. totally halarious . The last time I saw Rich, we had a great talk, and laughed so hard we both had tears in our eyes, and it was relating to Dave in fact...Didnt know we had him as a freind in common, and the stories flowed. I actually took a great pic at the time, of our silly faces, and still teary eyes from laughing, and hope I can find it and scan it, to post soon. I did not know Dave was in Alberta, so the chances of my help in this matter are slim, but as stated, my brother and others just might know more come tomorrow night, do the best I can. | Meantime Mike User Info... | The memorial was on Saturday, as well as spreading his ashes earlier in the day. The memorial went well and there was a Spaghetti feast in honour of the ones Rich used to cook up for everyone back in the day. Lots of faces I hadnt seen in many years. Thanks to Metalqueen for taking charge and getting it all going and thanks to everyone else who pitched in and helped out. A group of us went to the Canucks game at GM place the next day and I left his picture and obit taped to the upper wall of GM Place looking down onto the ice (or stage!)
