Jedi The following words were written by Ted Nugent, the rock singer and hunter/naturalist, upon hearing that California Senators Boxer and Feinstein denounced him for being a "gun owner" and a "Rock Star". This was his response after telling the senators about his past contributions to children's charities and scholarship foundations which have totaled more than $13.7 million in the last 5 years! - Mon, 3 Mar 2003 11:40am
Jedi "I'm a Bad American; this pretty much sums it up for me. I like big trucks, big boats, big houses, and naturally, pretty women. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid-level governmental functionary with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts squirting out babies. I don't care about appearing compassionate. I think playing with toy guns doesn't make you a killer. I believe ignoring your kids and giving them Prozac might. I think I'm doing better than the homeless. I don't think being a minority makes you noble or victimized. I have the right not to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird or make me mad. This is my life to live, and not necessarily up to others' expectations. I know what SEX is and there are not varying degrees of it. I don't celebrate Kwanzaa. But if you want to that's fine; I just don't feel like everyone else should have to. I believe that if you are selling me a Dairy Queen shake, a candy bar, or hotel room you do it in English. As of matter of fact, if you are an American citizen, you should speak English. My uncles and forefathers shouldn't have had to die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come disrespect ours, and make us bend to your will. Get over it.

I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry butt if you're running from them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the previous line. I don't use the excuse "it's for the children" as a shield for unpopular opinions or actions. I know how to count votes and I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation do a recount when needed. I know what the definition of lying is, and it isn't based on the word "is" ever. I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you qualify for any special loan programs, gov't sponsored bank loans, etc., so you can open a hotel, 7-Eleven, trinket shop, or any thing else, while the indigenous people can't get past a high school education because they can't afford it.

I didn't take the initiative in inventing the Internet. I thought the Taco Bell dog was funny. I want them to bring back safe and sane fireworks. I believe no one ever died because of something Ozzy Osbourne, Ice-T or Marilyn Manson sang, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to that crap from someone else's car when I'm stopped at a red light. But I respect your right to. I think that being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at Blockbuster or Jack In The Box. I don't want to eat or drink anything with the words light, lite or fat-free on the package. Our soldiers did not go to some foreign country and risk their lives in vain and defend our Constitution so that decades later you can tell me it's a living document ever changing and is open to interpretation. The guys who wrote it were light years ahead of anyone today, and they meant what they said - now leave the document alone, or there's going to be trouble.

I don't hate the rich. I help the poor. I know wrestling is fake. I've never owned, nor was a slave, and a large percentage of our forefathers weren't wealthy enough to own one either. Please stop blaming me because some prior white people were idiots - and remember, tons of white, Indian, Chinese, and other races have been enslaved too - it was wrong for every one of them. I believe a self-righteous liberal Democrat with a cause is more dangerous than a Hell's Angel with an attitude. I want to know exactly which church is it where the "Reverend" Jessie Jackson preaches; and, what exactly is his job function. I own a gun, you can own a gun, and any red blooded American should be allowed to own a gun, but if you use it in a crime, then you will serve the time.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it makes you mad, then invent the next operating system that's better and put your name on the building. Ask your buddy that invented the Internet to help you. I don't believe in hate crime legislation. Even suggesting it makes me mad. You're telling me that someone who is a minority, gay, disabled, another nationality, or otherwise different from the mainstream of this country has more value as a human being that I do as a white male? If someone kills anyone, I'd say that it's a hate crime. We don't need more laws! Let's enforce the ones we already have. I think turkey bacon, turkey beef, turkey fake anything sucks. I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child - it takes a parent with the guts to stand up to the kid and spank his butt and say "NO!" when it's necessary to do so.

I'll admit that the only movie that ever made me cry was Ole Yeller. I didn't realize Dr. Seuss was a genius until I had a kid. I will not be frowned upon or be looked down upon or be made to keep silent because I have these beliefs and opinions. I thought this country allowed me that right. I will not conform or compromise just to keep from hurting somebody's feelings. I'm neither angry nor disenfranchised, no matter how desperately the mainstream media would like the world to believe otherwise. Yes, I guess by some people's definition, I may be a "Bad American". But that's tough."

Oh and yeah, having guns really makes everyone safer.

In the states every day 59 people die from guns. In canada a person dies every 3 days. They have 10 times the population and almost 100 times the murder and serious crime rate. - Mon, 3 Mar 2003 9:56pm

Anonymous Another assumption that Nugent makes, as do many Americans, is that the US is responsible for defeating Hitler in WWII. If you look at the numbers, number of Tanks, Troops, Airplanes involved the US at Normandy was just a side show, a distraction while the real fighting was being done on the Eastern front. I get really tired of hearing how we would all be speaking German if it weren't for the fucking Amerkans. The US fielded at most 150,000 men. The Russians had over 1.5 million at Stalingrad alone. - Tue, 4 Mar 2003 1:09am

If you keep quiet because you're afraid someone might think your not "politically correct" then you're not much of a redneck. If some one had spoken up in Germany when they came to take the Jews away then maybe things would have been different. I certainly don't agree with all Ted Nugent has to say. ok two things come to mind

1. charity starts at home... if you have nothing at all then you can't help anybody

2. this talk about arming citizens so we'll be better protected from an invasion is very scary to me because many people are affraid and left in the dark because that's the easiest way they can be controlled.

3. maybe if the US were a little MORE involved in foreign affairs (and i mean in a GOOD way) everybody wouldn't hate them so much and there would be no need for the paranoia and straight up fear that seems to claim so many of it's citizens

4. the states killed off the indigineous people while canada simply bought them off. either way it is SHIT.

wow, good thing i can count to two.. - Wed, 5 Mar 2003 1:52pm
wtf? more guns = not good. lets look at movies that feature places where there are lots of guns.
1.saving private ryan - movie about war. everybody in that movie has a gun and they all get shot.
2.not without my daughter - movie about some chick in the middle east. there are lots of automatic weapon toting crazies and i'm pretty sure some people get shot. plus something happens to her daughter.
3.dangerous minds - movie about the hood. lots of people have guns, there are metal detectors at the school. everybody knows that part of living in the hood is shooting people.
and finally:
4.tombstone - movie about the great free west, a time when everybody had guns, and carried them around, and shot people. wyatt erp wants to retire from killing people with guns, but oh, wait there are still too many people with guns and so his brothers are shot and the marshal and countless others, then he gets really angry and kills some more. these people were all stupid. so stupid that they let the coolest cowboy ever(doc holiday) die of tuberculosis. less guns more cures for diseases.
makes sense? yes, yes it does. - Wed, 5 Mar 2003 2:56pm
Anonymous Zippgunn - Sorry pal but the US most assuredly had a hell of a lot more than 150,000 men in Euro in WW2. More like a million. They had the majority of troops in N. Africa and Italy as well as an overwhelming majority in NE Euro after D-Day. Also 90% of the troops in the Pacific
Zippgunn - Let me clarify things a little and I'll try to do this as briefly as possible so I don't put people to sleep. The Allied strength available to Eisenhower by the end of the war totaled more than 4 million 2/3 of which were American troops in all services. However,

"The Battle of the Bulge was the greatest pitched battle on the western front in World War II. A total of 29 German and 33 Allied divisions (mainly American) participated. "
This resulted in approximately 100,000 German casualties both killed and wounded

"The German Army High Command (Oberkommando des Heeres or OKH) assigned 148 divisions, including 19 panzer divisions, to the invasion of the USSR. Total personnel strength was 3,050,000 men. Initially the armies had 3,350 tanks, 7,184 artillery pieces, 600,000 motor vehicles, and 625,000 horses, and the Luftwaffe provided 2,500 aircraft of all types. The Finnish Army added 500,000 men, and Romania furnished 14 divisions or about 250,000 men. After the invasion started, Hungary, Italy, and the puppet state of Slovakia also furnished contingents of troops. An additional 5 German divisions under the direct control of the High Command of the Armed Forces (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht or OKW) were earmarked for the attack out of northern Finland to cut the Murmansk Railroad."

Most of these German troops were wiped out by the Russians at Leningrad, Stalingrad, Kursk and the final drive onto Berlin. Just in shere numbers of troops ACTUALLY ENGAGED the Eastern front dwarfed what the allies were doing in France. As far as the Pacific theatre the US Navy was extremely important but the island hopping battles such as Iwo Jima were fought by a few thousand (20,000 US). The Japanese Army was defeated in a little known battle at Imphal in Burma by Troops mainly from India commanded by the British under Mountbatten. I'm not trying to put down the American involvement just trying to put it in perspective 'cause god knows the Americans never would. - Wed, 5 Mar 2003 4:16pm

Ted Fear red Bear Nugent Ted - Fred Bear

There I was, back in the wild again
And I felt right at home where I belong
I had that feelin' comin' over me again
Just like it happened so many times before

The spirit of the woods is like an old good friend
It makes me feel warm and good inside
I knew his name and it was good to see him again
'Cuz in the wind he's still alive

Oh, Fred Bear, walk with me down the trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I'm glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I'll join you in the big hunt before too long
Before too long

It was kinda dark, another misty dusk
And it came from a tangle down below
I tried to remember everything he taught me so well
I had to decide which way to go

Was I alone or in a hunter's dream?
'Cuz the moment of truth was here and now
I felt his touch, I felt his guiding hand
The buck was mine, forevermore

Because of Fred Bear
I'll walk down these trails again
Take me back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I'm glad to have you at my side my friend
And I'll join you in the big hunt before too long
We're not alone when we're in the great outdoors
We got his spirit, we've got his soul
He will guide our steps, he'll guide our arrows home
The restless spirit forever roams

Fred Bear, walk with me down the trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I'm glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I'll join you on the big hunt before too long

Oh, Fred Bear, walk with me down the trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I'm glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I'll join you in the big hunt before too long

In the wind he's still alive
In the wind he's still alive
In the wind he's still alive
In the wind he's still alive
In the wind, I hear, I hear Fred Bear

(I hear ya Fred,
Talk to me,
yea ,
its all right
lets go hunting baby
Say Fred, you go up on that ridge
And I'll go down in the swamp
We'll get that buck)

(Fred)
(If some of our teenage thrill seeker really want to go out and get a thrill.
Let them go up into the north west and let them tangle with a Grizzly bear
or Polar bear or brown bear and get that effect that will cleanse the soul.) - Thu, 13 Mar 2003 3:15pm
Troutbreath What is it supposed to do for the bear? Just leave the poor fuckers alone and appreciate them through a telephoto lense. - Thu, 13 Mar 2003 4:04pm

Anonymous "Let them go up into the north west"

This is a small quibble but it's something that really just bugs me. We are in the SOUTHWEST. This is the southwestern part of Canada. The North west is up around Alaska-Yukon. On the little things that bug me list it's right up there with "vi land" and the "Fairmont Empress" - Thu, 13 Mar 2003 10:17pm
XXX I like what Ted had to say. He pretty much covered a lot in just a few
words. Too bad he doesn't realize (yet) the America he loves has already
died many times over. I'm glad he can shoot though! He reminds me of Davy
Crockett. - Wed, 26 Mar 2003 1:59am
Anonymous i work at the fairmont Empress
what of it? - Wed, 26 Mar 2003 2:09am
Anonymous It's the Empress always has been always will be. You've been told to say Fairmont or else, don;t play along. These Easterners that move in and try to change our landmarks need to know we won't put up with it. Victoria for Victorians! Long live the Empress! - Wed, 26 Mar 2003 11:58am
