| Romi Mayes User Info... | i have been a successful touring musician for over 15 years. I have been self managed and considering the independent career I have felt like I have done very well for myself. The issue now, though, is that as the industry has been changing before our very eyes, so too is my desire to vie for the attention and pocket books of those out there that are willing to still support live music. At some point, I have been hands on in every aspect of my career from the booking, advancing, touring and admin end to the PR, publishing, marketing, and merchandising end. I feel extremely knowledgable in all those departments. I plan to move to the coast this summer with my daughter and I am looking for a new challenge. Something that is creative and intensive and puts me to the test. Something within my skill set that I can profit from while benefiting a company, large or small, with my experience. I have been interested in working for the music industry for as long back as I can remember. It seems I have sometimes felt along the way that my strength lay more in the industry side than the performing side. I have booking, advancing and managerial skills as well, that I have enjoyed maximizing, but these days I don't feel as strongly about my own career as I had in the past. I suppose I am tiring from the grind and looking for a new challenge. I am unsure if you have any positions in mind but I know that I would be an asset to in any capacity that was offered from Music BC, or from any nearby affiliate that required a competent and able person like myself on staff.
