I would have opened it! keep in mind I had non-prescription coloured contacts in that night as well, wich somewhat hinders your vision!...and I was walking through the "glass door" to get into a cab..so the night was over at that point!...and yes, I think Chopper/Shaggy maybe made some bad parenting choices when he was younger, and now feels he must redeem himself by teaching his knowledge of "shitty Parenting" to others in hopes they won't make the same mistakes he did!....but I thank you not Chopper, I have done an excellent job, and need no guidance!
