Probably one of the best demos/CD releases I've heard in a VERY long time. In fact, the joke is that ever since I managed to find this demo, I gave up looking for more demos (there's not much point when everyone keeps the demos hidden, and I'm sick and tired of whining for demos I'm missing). Seriously, it's THAT good (along with The Pricks-Cocksuckers and Motherfuckers).

The version I have starts out with Nothing For Me (I could of sworn I heard this live, perhaps that was Repeat Offender, another one of my favorite tracks), I'm actually learning how to play this cause it's that good. Other good tracks on this disc are District 72 (another fun song which is a cover), Last Goodbye (a Agent Orange cover) and Oh That Boozy Dame but the rest of the songs are really good. It's too bad more bands don't sound like this. :) It must be all to do with the guitar tone, not that I'll ever find out though. Thumbs up!!! - Thu, 5 Jul 2007 2:10am Edited: Thu, 5 Jul 2007 2:25am

Actually it was released a few years back, I dunno if they plan to re-release the CD, but I do believe they plan to (I hope). I should of realized this before I posted the review though. - Thu, 5 Jul 2007 10:44am

I have an Excessives cd that looks to be self titled from 99, but differant tunes on it than yours though. - Thu, 5 Jul 2007 12:38pm

Here's the copy I have, though I'd LOVE to find it on CD...

Track listing: Nothing on Me, Enamorato, Repeat Offender, No Use for You, None For Me, No Mas, 302, Bikini Wax Museum, Oh That Boozy Dame, Man Do I Ever Hate You, Last Goodbye (Agent Orange), District 72, I Used To Be in Love (Dayglo Abortions), I Like Drugs (The Simpletons).

The last 2 tracks I think came from Skills of a Misspent Youth, I'd love to find that CD actually. Gosh I wonder if Dustin Schwam actually got credit for drumming?!? (pretty amazing rolls!!!) Anyone got lyrics?!? - Thu, 5 Jul 2007 1:18pm Edited: Thu, 5 Jul 2007 1:21pm

OK, that sounds like I have the CD mistitled. The tracks listed sound like it came from "Skills of a Misspent Youth" (Shitheel, Half Cut, Side Track, Astronaut Food, Knife Fight on the Beach, I Like Drugs (Simpletons), Cosmonaut, I Used to Be in Love (Dayglo Abortions)). I wonder what I found?!?

UPDATE: Seems Scratch Records still has copies for sale. http://cdn.scratchrecords.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=17907 And I got the albums backwards, the self titled CD was there second album apparently. - Thu, 5 Jul 2007 7:05pm Edited: Fri, 6 Jul 2007 7:56pm

Let's clear this one up.
The self titled one was first. It had all of the tracks Griphin listed until and including the Agent Orange cover. It had a cover drawn by Schwam.

Next came "Skills of a Misspent Youth" which is the disc that TrevorCorey has. It was the original one to use the "Exorsist" cover.

I think that the Self Titled that Gripin has is a re-release with the cover songs at the end added on.

Lastly, the Don Teflon version of "Enamorado" will always be the best! - Thu, 25 Oct 2007 9:18am

I'd like to point out that I grabbed a copy of that CD from Ty, cause ya can't buy it anymore until The Excessives release it on their own label. Still, simply fuckin' AMAZING!!! - Sun, 28 Oct 2007 2:22pm
