| DAJ User Info... | Loitering charges dropped- resume on Monday - Good day and love to you all. After a month and a half of waiting and respecting the condition to not go to the library the 'crown' dropped the charges. Sarah and I intend to resume the occupation of the library courtyard on Monday (June 11th), again until the no loitering signs are removed. If it means a judge confirming the truth, that 'no loitering' signs are not only absurd but criminal as well, so be it. As in previous courtly encounters I will get justice or I will make them kill me. Supporting this action is good and easy- just show up. I imagine we will be here for when the library opens Monday morning. Try loitering in Edmonton or Winnipeg in the winter, or during any other season, and you'll realize that you have NOTHING to complain about. But what if the city builds -from our taxes- a special loitering zone? 4 walls, a roof, 2 bathrooms and a couple of doors, no non-loiterers allowed. Now and then a hatch in the roof will open and a city worker will pour a bucket of pennies in. We'll get the library to donate writeoff books to the loitering zone, that should take care of the need to loiter in the courtyard there. | DAJ User Info... | false arrest last night for the loitering thing - Hey all. Sarah and I and Andrew Ainsley were arrested last night (Monday the 11th of June, 2007). Sarah and I were arrested for breaching the conditions of the last arrest, even though the last arrest was dropped (apparently, someone 'forgot' to enter that fact into the police's computer). They figured it out by this morning and released us. Andrew was arrested for a charge that never existed and he was released when we got to the police station last night. The cop that arrested Andrew was very aggressive and violent, practicing his intimidation techniques- it seems Andrew might not just complain but actually sue the delusional butthead. This was all a big pile of crap. A tactic of intimidation and nothing more. (If you support the crown, stop right now because you will be forced to hate me for pointing out your complete world/life destroying retardation). You do not have the right to not join the revolution. I will return to occupying the courtyard before this day is over (i'm going to retrieve my stuff from the police station first). If you have any comprehension of freedom you will join us. I know as an extreme example, people who've acted/believed in some of the same principals or who've been considered radicals to our society can change or could possibly alter the way we live. Take a look at the jewish community; if hitler didn't mark "them" as being "im-pure" do you think the way of life for the jewish peoples would be the same? Or how about people of afro-american decent, if there wasn't slavery/extreme prejudice; do you think that 'black-history' would run so deep with so much anomosity towards "white people"? What Im trying to say is that while you might consider Daj to be some trifling idiot on a msg board, it isn't completely out of his grasp to try something that hits home alot more than postings on a msg board. To futher that; in my defense, I would lay my life on the line to protect the way we live. These guys park their bikes plus trailers plus panniers plus bulging garbage bags in space that would accomodate 3 or 4 regular bikes. I come there to actually use the library and I have frequently have to look all over for a safe place to lock up my bike because the library racks are monopolized by these homeless cats' RV-style bicycles. The library square becomes a lot less appealing to spend time in when there is a gang of people playing music, smoking and hanging up art and signs written on the backs of old cardboards. | DAJ User Info... | loitering update- June 13th, 2007 - hey... alrighty, the scoop the news... k whatever- Sarah and I had a delightful time with a new sign. The sign was finished at about 3 (a beautiful thing, best sign yet- it said in large letters- 'Loitering' implies purposelessness the signs are insane enforcing them is criminal not leaving 'til they come down bordering the top it said- pride is sin because fate is real bordering the bottom it said- the power of patience is with you) anyhoo- cops came at about 5. Arrested us for Assault by Trespass. Got to the station- they tried to get us to sign a Promise to Appear for August 8th, we refused and came to court in the morning. They did not take our picture or prints. We talked to duty council and he said that there was no such thing as Assault by Trespass and he would see what he could do. Sarah and I waited all day in cells to eventually sign an undertaking to return tomorrow (Thursday the 14th) at 9:00 AM to make our plea (not-guilty) and then set a date for trial. Apparently 3 of the top crown people confered all morning to figure out what to do with us. We are being charged with 'fail to leave/stop activity on or in premises, contrary to section 4(3) Trespass Act' for June 12th AND for the first time we protested on April 12th (I guess that may be their 'out' for not taking our picture and prints this time). It can be taken away from us, rightly or wrongly, we can lose it, whatever. The only thing that's really truly ours is what happens in our heads, and (DAJ may disagree) the choices we make. I mostly agree with DAJ, if that's what he means. But that doesn't stop me from working, and it doesn't stop me from accumulating. There are things I can do if I make lots of money that I can't do if I don't. Some of them are just things I want, most of them are things I'll do because I think it makes the world a better place. But I know I can't take it with me after I die, and I might lose it all before then. I know what's me and what's stuff, and I'm ok with that. What DAJ is squaking about is that too many people can't tell the difference between themselves and their work or their possessions or their house or whatever. What DAJ doesn't get is that people can know who they are and have possessions. Remember, it doesn't matter a damn what DAJ thinks of you. What do you think of you? If you get a good answer, what do you care? If you don't like the answer, you can change. But to suit yourself, not anyone else. And I know where you're coming from when you say DAJ makes no effort in life, but I think in some ways a lot of people could learn from him. I think that's why I defend him as much as I do. Not because I agree with him, but because I think we can learn from him. He lives 100% of every day being who he is 100%. He doesn't turn it off at 5 and go home for dinner. He doesn't apologize for it, and he doesn't ask permission. No matter what DAJ may say or do that I don't agree with, and often think is fully crazy, I know he's giving me the real shit. Most everyone has, not all though. It wasn't until a couple hundred years ago that 'choice' started infusing itself in people's minds enmass. Fate, for most of history, has been generally accepted. | DAJ User Info... | Anti-'No Loitering' Sign Campaign Update (Victoria, BC, Canada)- Wed. June 20, 2007 - Oh my. Good day all. Just got the particulars from the 'crown' about how they want to proceed with the charges against me and Sarah for occupying the courtyard out front of the Greater Victoria Public Library. It makes me pause often, finding the words to describe this absurdity they have presented. Apparently, me and my cronies and followers have been a plague in the library courtyard scaring the female employees with video cameras, shitting in the elevator and leaving needles everywhere. We've been peeing all over the library courtyard and the Facility Manager of the Waddington Complex at 940 Blanshard Street wants us permanently banned and the 'crown' wants me under conditions that would make it illegal to have any sign on me or to post any sign. They occasionally mention that we were there in the capacity of protesters, protesting the existence of the 'no loitering' signs. They even have seven pictures of the sign which says 'not leaving until no loitering signs are removed', just in case some vital evidence may appear at a different angle, I guess. I've one transgression, that I can see- in one of the first emails I sent out about this I suggested, adamantly, that I would not sign anything... I did sign a thing and I hope I measure my bravado more carefully in the future. This is going to trial. Tomorrow, Thursday the 21st of June, at 10:00 Am in courtroom #103. Sarah and I will be pleaing and setting a date for the trial... talking about bravado... I want the 'crown's surrender. If I get convicted because of these obvious lies the revolution will be catalized, as the courts just condemned an obviously innocent man and protected those involved in a naive, delusional and destructive crime- the unwillingness to admit a mistake and the justifying of corruption. The 'crown' thinks that malevolent behaviour is justifiable in the name of the 'common good'. It is not. The 'no loitering' signs are coming down, we'll see how. I give odds to this being dropped after they attempt to steal as much of our energy as possible... a simple man's patience will continue to be stronger than all the spin-doctoring in the world. | DAJ User Info... | loitering update- June 21st, 2007 - The trial is set for JANUARY 2ND, 2008 at 9:30 AM in Courtroom #203. There is a trial confirmation a month before on December 4th, 2007 at 9:00 AM in courtroom #103. We are seeing what we can do about shaving off a couple (or 6) months. Apparently the 'crown' has seven witnesses they want to call and therefore the trial will take a day- meaning a long wait to find a full day slot. We will concede that we exist and were there, so maybe they can scratch a witness or two. I hope that we do not even get to focusing on their lies and just stay on the matter on hand- only a criminal would put up a 'no loitering' sign (may their criminalness be naive and not a contrived practice of malevolence... either way, there is no escaping karma). | DAJ User Info... | loitering update- June 27th, 2007 - k- a quick one Sarah and I went in front of a judge yesterday to get our conditions changed (from a 'no go' to the entire block that the library is located to being able to use the library without stopping in the courtyard. We also changed the reporting in time from once a week to once a month). The 'crown' was mean and stupid and no one batted an eye when I suggested that the 'crown' was prejudiced in this case. We were successful after a few bouts of waiting and changing courtrooms 3 times.
