| Anonymous User Info... | Hey all , you may know my rec. studio - Zero Gravity on Tennyson ave. We had a burglary the other day and some key componants were snatched.M***** F*****s . I'd like to get the stuff back as it's more than just gear value. Primarily my amps for my main Genelec 1038's. They are a black rackmount panal 1' x 1.5' with massive transformers and molex connectors with Genelec 1038 clearly marked. These are of no use to anyone without the mating speaker enclosures.. More missing items to follow once the insurance folks and cops are done sifting thru the remains. Macs , mics and other things. And yes there is a reward. I appreciate everyones support so far! | Robert Toth User Info... | Well the recovered items weren't mine unfortunatly but my current tennants. I don't have a list of there missing items , I however do know that a Mac dual G-5 with flat panel was swiped as well as other assorted laptops and desktops.They are from The Quantum Alliance. For me , 2 pwr amps some inexspensive mics but most importantly my Genelec 1038A power amps.It's looking as though my insurance is not going to cover this.Brutal. A short discription of the Gen amps : 2' x 1.2' black rackmount sheet metal with exposed electronics on the reverse side utilizing several multipin molex connections to speakers. GENELEC 1038 clearly marked on the face along side of several dip switches. There are two of them (right side, left side , respectivly). | Mean Mike User Info... | On another note, any SOCAN members can get gear insurance and home studio insurance. Affordable with payment plans available. Of course a commercial venture would just get regular business insurance but from what Ive found almost nobody wants to insure gear privately. | Mean Mike User Info... | Im not sure it would be.. the money comes from nightclub licences, businesses (ie; malls, restaraunts) that play canned music, blank CD tarriffs etc. IF a small time promoter got a business licence perhaps a percentage would go to SOCAN due to it being an entertainment licence, but Ive never heard of them going after individual un-licenced promoters even though bands can get SOCAN royalties for every live song they play if they can prove admission was over $6 and submit their song lists. And you say eff Socan.. Fine but then.. eff the royalties they pay out when college stations play your crappy demo. eff the cheap insurance for gear no insurance company in their right mind would touch, eff the rental replacements when you get your van stolen in mid-tour, eff the money they pay out for every single show you play live over $6. (about $2-$5 per song x 10+ songs per gig, can equal $30-$50 per gig) Consider your band plays 10 gigs within the quarter, thats a few hundred bucks they will send you a year later.. all you have to do is fill in your song lists and email them a ticket stub or poster copy or whatever to prove $6 admission. and do they pay you ask? why yes, they do pay. - Tue, 22 May 2007 2:53pm Edited: Tue, 22 May 2007 2:55pm | ||

| rsbf User Info... | I'm one of the partners of the main company in the building that was ripped off and will share that we have not recovered the 'gear' but there *is* speculation as to who did this and it's not pointing in the direction of the person you think.
