So I work at a pet store as a dog groomer....and this little shiht-zu came in for a grooming.I could not believe me eyes.....this poor doggie had matts from head to tail on him,so tight they were ripping the skin right off.You could not even see his face at all,his nose mouth or eyes.I was discusted!I ended up shaving him right down to the skin all over and gave him 3 baths. He felt soooo good after,he was running all aroung the grooming shop rolling over and so happy. He was a rescue dog and thank god the new owners brought him in when they did.My point is.....if you cant brush your dog(or cat)and take care of them...then dont fucking have animals...DAMN YOU BASTARDS!! - Mon, 26 Mar 2007 12:54pm

I think I love you.
Animal rights is my one big causes. I have personally rescued five dogs, my first was when I was only nine years old, my most recent was a pit of off the Songhees res. I've seen some sad cases come through the SPCA. We had one dog that was tied up in a back yard as a pup and allowed to grow over his collar. It had to be surgically removed. The thing was, he was a totally affectionate dog. We got finished walking them early and I spent 45 minutes brushing him out. His cage was a foot deep in hair by the time I was finished.
We could really use more volunteers down there, especially ones with grooming experience.

I would say 60 percent of my clients are now coming in with rescue animals. We had 16 dogs and 14 cats growing up(some rescue dogs as well) I dont understand why people treat innocent animals that way ....fuck it makes me so mad!!!! - Mon, 26 Mar 2007 3:55pm Edited: Mon, 26 Mar 2007 3:55pm

Don't even get me started on that video. I was literally sobbing watching that. Everytime I hear that Avril Lavigne song now I cry. If its the same video I am thinking of. Which I won't look at cuz I cant watch it again.

I am with you metalqueen. I also wanted to get into the veterinary field but soon realized I couldn't stand to deal with all the horrible things a vet sees. Although I do remember when I had to put down my first dog (he had a brain tumor) as an adult, the whole vets office was crying with me. Best vet ever and I wish he didnt move back to England. - Mon, 26 Mar 2007 6:00pm

But animals are supposed to be eaten, its a part of nature. Animals eat other animals and humans eat them, so if you mean it is is cruel, it is not. In fact without hunting, many species would rot and decay because there would be nothing for them to eat, now would you prefer an instantaneous death or having them starve? My point is, that whole anti animal killing is retarded, I mean come to think of it many tribes or races could never have survived without hunting, it is evidently a natural part of life. - Mon, 26 Mar 2007 6:32pm

Factory farms aren't a part of natural life. They are sick abominations.

But yeah, if you go out into the woods, and stalk, kill and clean your own prey, then that's fine by me. That's natural. - Mon, 26 Mar 2007 7:15pm Edited: Mon, 26 Mar 2007 7:15pm

There are so many alternatives available now that replace meat that there's no need for the inhumane treatment of animals.

The premiss that "it's a natural progression" doesn't hold water any longer. It's obvoius to most that the "consumerist" attitude that the western world now lives in will be our undoing.

I think that in the future, meat and meat products will become more and more harmfull to humans because of the chemical treatments that go into the food chain where meat is concerned.

Vegiterianism is the way of the future and thanks for this insightfull thread metalqueen. - Mon, 26 Mar 2007 7:31pm

I have a story. i was driving at around 6:30 am and the girl in the car in front of me hit a dog. She Pulled over, as did I and the dog was pretty badly hurt, the poor girl was crying so hard she was vomiting. I stayed with her and the dog until the police came, i called the S.P.C.A later that day and found out the poor doggie had died. The girl who hit him could not have avoided him, he came out from between parked cars.I don't feel bad for the owners because it was freezing out that night and there was no reason that poor dog should have been outside. The SPCA also said that the dog was not in good condition anyway, he had been neglected. So the last day of this dogs life was spent in the freezing cold only to be killed by a car....... at least I held him in my arms and hopefully he had some love and comfort from that. - Tue, 27 Mar 2007 10:23am

a few years ago an old shep.lab ran past my house on 3 legs after getting hit on mckenzie.. but wow could that dog RUN.. it ran right past Douglas Vet whose back lot the Blue Cross used to park in, and they got an ambulance and chased it down.. It was biting anyone who came near it but it was happy to get in the van (van ride! yay!) and back to the vets for some ER action.

That dog still walks past here with its owner.. on a leash.. and on 3 legs. - Tue, 27 Mar 2007 12:49pm

This is a true story. Well as true stories from newfoundland go. But anyways.

Picture it. St. John's Newfoundland, NL. 1995. My cousin/roomate was working at the Airport as a flag waver dude. He then got his best friend a job there as well. And as you may know, jobs are hard to come by in Newfieland. Anyways, his buddy is LATE for his first day of work, so he is just flat out given er' down Memorial Drive just flyin!
BANG..or Thud! He hits a cat. Jumps out of his car, sees the still breathing cat lying on the sidewalk. So.....thats right, he kills the cat to put it out of its misery....on to work he goes. He saves his ass at work, and heads home that night. Mr. Royal Newfoundland Constabulary takes a visit out to his place that same night. At the door, the Constab'/Cat Killers conversation goes like this.

Constab': Mr. Cocky, do you know why we are here tonight?
Cat Killer: Yes, i believe so. I hit a cat today.
Constab': Well tell me what happened.
CatKiller: I was late for work, driving with a purpose, and i hit a cat. Simply put, i didnt want the cat suffering, so i killed it. I didnt want to lose my job, so away i went.
Constab': Well Mr. Cocky we got a phone call from Ms. Cat, who is 88 years old. She says that she was having her morning tea, watching her 17 year old cat lying in the morning sun, when suddenly you came to a screeching halt, got out of your van, and grabbed her sleeping cat, smashed its head in, and away you went.
Cat Killer: Oh, No! No! I definately hit the cat, and out of compassion, i did what i did.
Constab' Well, lets go take a look at your van shall we?
Cat Killer: Ok

They went out, took a look at the van. No damage, nothing out of place, all good?. However, the dead bloody cat wedged up in the grill would have to say otherwise.

Granny was sipping her tea, rocking in her rocking chair. When she witnessed her 17 year old cat be murdered. 17 is old for a cat. - Tue, 27 Mar 2007 5:37pm Edited: Tue, 27 Mar 2007 5:39pm

My wife and I adopted our wonderful German Shepherd from the SPCA almost 3 years ago, despite our hesitation about his age (he was 10 and a half when we got him), but he turned out to be an absolutely awesome and loyal dog. His previous owner of 10 frickin years left basically zero information about him at all, though he was a purebred from a good line, with his papers and everything. She just dropped him off and didn't bother including any information about anything.

After we adopted him we began to see a lot of medical issues coming to light that had obviously been neglected by said previous owner, including some major food allergies and badly infected ears. His canine teeth had also been clipped flat (bastards!) for no good reason - he was the most laid back and friendly dog you've ever met (well after the initial round of barking and posturing when someone came into the house that he wasn't sure of - as any GSD worth their salt should do, anyway).

I suspect his owner knew that he was going to have some expensive vet bills and got rid of him so she wouldn't have to deal with them. At least she could have let somebody know.. makes me mad.

Over time he developed something called Degenerative Myelopathy, which is like ALS or MS, where basically the nerves begin to die off and they become slowly weak, uncoordinated and eventually paralyzed, starting in their back legs and moving forward. Very common in German Shepherds apparently, but he fought it really well and even 2 years after being diagnosed he still hadn't given in, though we knew at some point we were going to have to decide to let him go (we were firm that once he was no longer able to get up and walk around by himself we would let him go).

Despite all of that, he was still a puppy at heart - even though he couldn't run anymore and could only go for short walks (10 - 15 mins or so).. he still loved to play and just be with us.

Sadly, the night before last he very suddenly developed torsion (also known as bloat), where the stomach bloats and twists.. it is pretty well the worst thing that can happen to a dog and the causes of it aren't well known, but it is intensely painful and can be fatal in minutes or hours. We were just watching House on tuesday and he came running in, obviously in distress and not able to help himself..

Never seen him in so much pain before.. we took him to the emergency vet in Saanichton and were faced with the reality that he needed to go to sleep.. the only treatment option was a $7000 surgery that he likely would not live through, and even if he did, it would have been selfish to put him through that, even if we'd had the money.

But damn, I sure miss my SPCA boy.. I don't regret one minute or dollar that was spent on him, and we will definately be adopting again sometime in the future.

Sorry for your loss.
I agree with the choice you made. Keta is twelve, he has insurance, but I would not put him through a major intestinal surgery at his age.
SPCA dogs are the best, most loyal dogs.
I can't believe how many people "drop off" older dogs. That's when they need you the most.
Good luck with your next adoption. Pet Plan is only $35 per month for dogs, $18 for cats. Worth every penny. - Thu, 29 Mar 2007 1:59pm Edited: Thu, 29 Mar 2007 2:19pm

Hi there, everyone! This thread is so fitting. My family have rescue dogs. We have taken in 4 rescue dogs to date and taken care of them and brought them back to health. One of our dogs had its legs so mangled as a pup, it looked like this puppy had been thrown out a car window or something. Luckily, the dog can still walk but he will have problems as he gets older. He is a wonder. Our other little rescue dog was so malnourished that it had most of its fur missing and terrible allergies. We nursed her back to health, but her life was cut short from whatever was done before we got her. She had a good few years of happiness with us though, poor little soul. Our other rescue dog was starving - so thin you wouldn't believe she could have survived. And our other rescue dog was just a poor little abandoned puppy left to wander with no food or shelter. :-(

There are a lot of places that help to rescue dogs, not only the SPCA - I want to raise money for these places - so I thought to put on a show at the Event Centre in May to do it. I'm just starting to get it all organized now. But if anyone wants to help with it, that would be super. I just wanted to do something. I miss my little doggie that died this past summer and I'd heard that the pet rescue place needs supplies and money to go in and rescue these animals. I want to help and I don't have a lot of money - so I thought a show would be a good idea. I didn't know how many people would be interested, but I wanted to do it anyway.

So let me know if you want to help - even telling your stories of your pets and how they were rescued would be wonderful. If we can honour these pets and somehow help other pets at the same time, so that they will hopefully not be hurt in the first place - but if they are, that someone can actually go in and rescue them and get them the care they need.

Ok... I'm being longwinded. Take care... C - Fri, 30 Mar 2007 12:34am

The majority of the problem would be solved if dumb ass people got their animals spayed and nuetered (sp?). I know someone, I wouldn't say a friend exactly, but something along those lines, who wants to get a couple of kittens. He has a hard time paying his rent so I don't know how he plans on taking on the responsibility of two cats. And considering the last couple of cats he had got run over, I shudder at the thought. Cheers to all you animal rescuers. - Fri, 30 Mar 2007 1:09am

HERE'S A STORY....

I used to own a pair of Iguana's (in Vancouver) that were handed over to me, by my next door neighbours (who were evicted for buying some baby 'Boxers') .. Anyhow, as the story goes, both of these great Iguana's lived with me for about 3 weeks (I had even named them; assuming that one was a female- and I named 'her' L.S.D. 'Lizard Slut Demon' and the other, I named 'him' 'Chicken Lover'..) So, anyhoo's as the story goes..

'Chicken Lover' took ill about 3 weeks in when I took care of them, and fed them a hearty diet of mostly, lettuce n' ckicken.. And a vast assortment of different 'cockroaches' I randomly killed- while I had moved in a month earlier.

The 'Lizard Slut Demon,' (I couldn't believe was so exquisitely intellegent.. She used to crawl up the side of the couch and sit on my lap as we watched t.v...)

The 'Chicken Lover', became withdrawn as we hung around watching t.v. and fell further into 'depression', then I noticed how much he would just lay there; aimlessly and listlessly for days and days.. He wouldn't move in the least..

Just as I may have met someone who became a roommate and the likeness; of the atmosphere of 'our~ apartment', he too noticed that the lizard was looking sickly and wouldn't even eat.

I decided after much thought (and many intestinal related 'gas issues' after "L.S.D." had started to claw away and bite at the sickly looking 'Chicken Lover' to the point beyond him; defending himself...

(I used to have to pry her off... The former owners told me they were of different 'Iguana breeds'..)

Finally, after a few weeks of gut-wrenching and gastrointenstinal interference and 'L.S.D.' beating the living crap out of 'Chicken Lover'..

I decided, I was going to throw 'Chicken Lover' out of the window and let him have a parachuteless 'Paratroopers' exit out of this world (and out of my intestinal tract)..

Problem was that my roommate was always in the apartment, he never would leave long enough for me to 'take care of business'..

So, one night, I decided to, while he was watching t.v. (as usual- stoned out of his 'Gord') that when he wasn't looking- throw 'Chicken Lover' out of 'our apartment'..

I calmly took 'Chicken Lover' to the edge, and during an 'Episode' of 'Barney Miller', (while Jesse wasn't looking) inconspicuously pushed 'Chicken Lover' from the edge of the 9th Story Apartment from where we lived.

I hoped the best for 'Chicken Lover', and he fell.. (No he wasn't the kind of lizard that had 'wings')

I thought he was dead on impact.
(since I told 'Jesse' that the lizard had fallen out the window... We were both saddened.)

A few short hours later...

I went to work knowing that 'Chicken Lover' was going to be there outside; below... (I looked and he wasn't; I wanted to give him a fair send off, I had already made him a 'coffin'... He wasn't anywhere to be found..)

Then as I'm thinking all the way up the elevator, to the front door of 'our apartment'..?

I come home to find 'Jesse' my roommate as usual always; still there..

FUCK!??!!
S.C.P.A. was there on the scene, (it was around the noon hour)

Jesse has this look in his eyes... Because he knows what I did!!!

The S.P.C.A. guy gives me shit about the lizard, saying that- "I WAS THE ONE THAT PUSHED THE LIZARD OUT THE WINDOW!?!?!?"

I deny...
(SPCA guy won't disclose who called them)

The lizard didn't die, and looked a pale-gray rather than his faded 'teal blue'.

(I see Jesse in the elevator, today(victoria)smelling like shit 'complaining' that 'his wife' is still interested in 'her Ex'..)

He was headed to the 16 floor.

Come to think of it... We had another roommate who when he found out 'L.S.D.' was missing the next day after..?

Tries to strangle 'Jesse' to death... (TRUE STORY) Jesse didn't die..

But, I'm guessing that's not the 'tragic end' we'll be hearing from on the Live Victoria site.. (In the next day or two...We'll be reading about it in the newspaper instead)

Really gross and looked human almost. Anyone have any advice?? He seems to be pacing and whiny. I dunno if I should rush him to the emergency vet or see how it goes for a day? - Sat, 31 Mar 2007 7:42pm

There's a huge pet food recall going on, its been all over the news. I haven't checked these links, but I got these from an artist e-mail list I'm on:

http://www.menufoods.com/recall/

I hope your dog gets well fast.

Apparently its the largest consumer product recall in history and they'll be covering vet bills. - Sat, 31 Mar 2007 7:57pm Edited: Sat, 31 Mar 2007 7:59pm

I got this off Craigs List

This is from someone else....

I am posting this (and it is long) because I think our society needs a huge
'Wake-up' call. As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight
with you all...a view from the inside if you will. First off, this is a
forum to for adoption and/or rehoming as clearly stated in the rules. All of
you breeders/sellers on craigslist should not only be flagged (and I hope
the good people on craigslist will continue to do so with blind fury), but
you should be made to work in the 'back' of an animal shelter for just one
day. Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes,
you would change your mind about breeding and selling to people you don't
even know, that puppy you just sold will most likely end up in my shelter
when it's not a cute little puppy anymore.

So how would you feel if you knew that there's about a 90% chance that dog
will never walk out of the shelter it is going to be dumped at? Purebred or
not! About 50% of all of the dogs that are 'owner surrenders' or 'strays',
that come into my shelter are purebred dogs. The most common excuses I hear
are; 'We are moving and we can't take our dog (or cat).' Really? Where are
you moving to that doesn't allow pets? Or they say 'The dog got bigger than
we thought it would'. How big did you think a German Shepherd would get? 'We
don't have time for her'. Really? I work a 10-12 hour day and still have
time for my 6 dogs! 'She's tearing up our yard'. How about making her a part
of your family? They always tell me, 'We just don't want to have to stress
about finding a place for her, we know she'll get adopted, she's a good
dog'. Odds are your pet won't get adopted & how stressful do you think being
in a shelter is? Well, let me tell you, your pet has 72 hours to find a new
family from the moment you drop it off, sometimes a little longer if the
shelter isn't full and your dog manages to stay completely healthy; if it
sniffles, it dies. Your pet will be confined to a small run/kennel in a room
with about 25 other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve
itself where it eats and sleeps. It will be depressed and it will cry
constantly for the family that abandoned it. If your pet is lucky, I will
have enough volunteers in that day to take him/her for a walk. If I don't,
your pet won't get any attention besides having a bowl of food slid under
the kennel door and the waste sprayed out of its pen with a high-powered
hose. If your dog is big, black or any of the 'Bully' breeds (pit bull,
rottie, mastiff, etc) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through the
front door. Those dogs just don't get adopted. If your dog doesn't get
adopted within its 72 hours and the shelter is full, it will be destroyed.
If the shelter isn't full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable
enough breed, it may get a stay of execution, not for long though. Most get
very kennel protective after about a week and are destroyed for showing
aggression, even the sweetest dogs will turn in this environment. If your
pet makes it over all of those hurdles, chances are it will get kennel cough
or an upper respiratory infection and will be destroyed because shelters
just don't have the funds to pay for even a $100 treatment.

Here's a little euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed a
perfectly healthy, scared animal being 'put-down'. First, your pet will be
taken from its kennel on a leash, they always look like they think they are
going for a walk, happy, wagging their tails. Until they get to 'The Room',
every one of them freaks out and puts on the breaks when we get to the door;
it must smell like death or they can feel the sad souls that are left in
there, it's strange, but it happens with every one of them. Your dog or cat
will be restrained, held down by 1 or 2 vet techs depending on the size and
how freaked out they are. Then a euthanasia tech or a vet will start the
process, they will find a vein in the front leg and inject a lethal dose of
the 'pink stuff'. Hopefully your pet doesn't panic from being restrained and
jerk. I've seen the needles tear out of a leg and been covered with the
resulting blood and deafened by the yelps and screams. They all don't just
'go to sleep', sometimes spasm for a while, gasp for air and defecate on
themselves. When it all ends, your pets corpse will be stacked like firewood
in a large freezer in the back with all of the other animals that were
killed, waiting to be picked up like garbage. What happens next? Cremated?
Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? You'll never know and it probably
won't even cross your mind, it was just an animal and you can always buy
another one right?

I hope that those of you that have read this are bawling your eyes out and
can't get the pictures out of your head. I do everyday on the way home from
work. I hate my job, I hate that it exists & I hate that it will always be
there unless you people make some changes and realize that the lives you are
affecting go much farther than the pets you dump at a shelter. Between 9 and
11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters and only you can stop it. I do
my best to save every life I can but rescues are always full, and there are
more animals coming in everyday than there are homes.

My point to all of this: DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!

Hate me or flag me if you want to, the truth hurts and reality is what it
is. I just hope I maybe changed one persons mind about breeding their dog,
taking their loving pet to a shelter, or buying a dog. I hope that someone
will walk into my shelter and say 'I saw this thing on craigslist and it
made me want adopt,' that would make it all worth it."

This is a posting I read from someone who is very passionate about our pets.

Jess, if you havent already done so, you need to take your dog in.
Your other post is the sad truth for most cities in North America, Victoria has a much higher survival rate. I dont know much about the city pound, but I know the staff at the local spca go above and beyond to adopt and foster out animals, and they have a no (healthy) kill policy. There are people on the inside that save most of the sick and there have been great legnths taken to save the pitties. They even shipped a group off to a pit bull rescue ranch down in Tennesse.
All that said, it is still a very stressful environment and animals do get sick. My one dog spent three months at the Vic spca before we found her. She needed a bath but was otherwise healthy and sweet.

I have been involved in the ilicit 'Cat and Dog Food' trade at an horrendous pace for over the last few months, travelling around picking up and delivering between Provinces- I wonder how many pets I have contributed to their deaths as a result of my distribution related connections through various brokers across Canada.

Seriously all that stuff above about the 'S.P.C.A.' is cap.r
I wouldn't buy or rent an animal from the 'S.P.C.A.' at any cost- for any reason- in this day and age.

I would only buy one or two, purebreeds from breeders themselves.

Mace you're a fucking idiot. Jess, I'm a vet student and you need to take your dog to the vet. You ALWAYS take those kinds of symptoms seriously, it could be any number of really nasty things, or meybe not, but it's better to be on the safe side. Make sure you take your dog food with you because it could be the cause.

I'm all for getting your pets at the S.P.C.A., breeders piss me off 90% of the time and I've seen the nasty side of this job. I've also seen the great side and hey if this is something you want to do, don't back away from it because of the stuff that's too hard to see. This is probably the most fulfilling job anyone could ever have. I LOVE it, and I see more good stuff than bad.

If anybody here likes the white wine there's a kind that gives some proceeds to the S.P.C.A., it's called "cat's pee on a gooseberry bush"...tee hee, it's ok for wine, I prefer beer myself.

If anybody feels like doing a good deed, because of the food recalls going on right now alot of shelters have had to throw out flat after flat of canned food, they could use donations. - Sun, 1 Apr 2007 10:36am

Very strange this morning waking up without him. - Sun, 1 Apr 2007 12:44pm

see the film Sharkwater - take your kids (not the young ones) - I think it's
really important for young people to see this and tell everyone you know
about it. It's one of the most amazing, beautiful heart wrenching films I
have seen and I think everyone NEEDS to see it.

Did anybody see the report about the dog that had it's ears cut off with a kitchen knife or hand saw by it's owner in Windsor Ontario? Does anybody want to go to Windsor Ontario and beat the livin shit out of this fuckin fucker, cut off his ears (and maybe a few more things) and set him him up real good. My boss had the globe and Mail sitting on my desk when I went to work on Wed. WHat a way to start my day. . . sobbing. Someone reported the puppy in distress on the balcony with blood all over it. Fuck that just makes me hate so bad I want to put this guy out of the world's misery. And to top it off, Ontario has really lax animal cruelty laws and so there is nothing stopping this guy from getting another dog. Nothing stopping him from living either. Except for the fact that I am not able to travel to Windsor right at the moment. Let's kill the bastard. That would be too good for him though.

I'm sorry Danielle. I shouldn't have vitiated your message like that. I just got too emotional

This story upset me on so many levels.

First, the obvious. Animal mutilation.

Second, since the story broke, everyone in Canada wants to adopt the poor critter. Meanwhile 5.5 million dogs a year are euthanized in Canada and the U.S. and A. If this dog wasn't a story of mutilation, he could easily be another statistic.

Third, every time I shop at my local corner store I have to see a box full of dehydrated pig ears for sale as dog treats.

Our society can be so concerned about one incident of animal mutilation and then turn around and think they are sexy in their leather lingerie. I would rather be a earless dog than a skinless cow.

I apologize to you Danielle. You didn't deserve that abuse from me. I know you are legitimately upset about the story. I just would like to see people show the same emotional response to their everyday actions. Not just save it for an isolated incident. - Tue, 22 May 2007 4:21pm

I accept your apology Trevor Corey. And I acknowledge your comment about hypocracy. Even I am not sure why it doesn't bother me so much to hear about human suffering (unless it is the suffering of children that is) as it does to hear about animal suffering. The media has a strong influence. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs. With the exception of one of my cats who along with her sister(who has since died of kidney failure - apparently common to purebred persions) were gifted to me, all my other babies were rescued from bad situations. I have never had a pet that I did not spay or neuter and I preach to others who don't fix their animals, which is a major part of the problem. Apart from those two cats that were given to me, I have never and will never buy purebred animals from a breeder. When I find it is time for me to add to my furry family I have always chosen to adopt/rescue, etc. It's not much but I figure if we all did that, the world would be a better place. Thanks for the "sorry".

I fell in love with one named Monty a few years ago. A friend of mine in Van got him from some relatives in Washington after he rescued the family from their burning home. For a long time after they stay with friends/relatives so they gave the dog away. So one night when I crashed at their place, and after they went to bed Monty jumped up and pushed me down on the bed to better lick my face. He was basically on top of me. Yeah and I know what all you fuckin pervs out there are thinkin! You can stop! So then I let him sleep at the bottom of the Futon with me but as soon as he thought I was asleep he came up and put his head on the pillow beside me and went to sleep with his face right up to mine. My friend later left the hubby who turned out to be a fuckin fucker and she didn't take Monty. I still think about Monty and hope that butthead Nirinder or Rearender or whatever the fuck his name was is nicer to his dog than he was to his wife. - Fri, 25 May 2007 3:30am

I hit a dog once or rather a dog hit my car. The owner was roller blading with the dog on the leash and he got away (through no fault of the owner). Anyways, i was only going about 30Km/hr when I saw the dog run towards my car. I slammed on the breaks and was stopped and the dog ran head first into my bumper. He stumbles around and lies down. I got out of the car and the owner was mortified at his dog for hitting my car. The dog looked drunk but then got up and started wagging his tail. He was fine. Just to be sure though I shot him and the owner. Cheers, Lucius
