I saw something rather disturbing today, as I was walking into the Tim Hortons in esquimalt, I was asked by two boys maybe around 15 years old....if I had a smoke....... I replied no I don't smoke...... then as the line up for coffee was long ...as usual... i was bearly in the door when a girl with a baby in a snugly on her chest walked out......the boys asked her for a smoke and she pulled out her pack and proceeded to give the boys a ciggarette....... she then lit up about two inches from her new born baby's head... as she dropped her arm after taking a drag.... her baby's arm hit the cherry of her smoke.... this girl didn't even look down to notice that she just almost or maybe did burn her baby........how discusting......... and there are people who really want children and can't have them....... yet some stupid ignorant fucking moron has one, and can't even muster the smarts to not smoke around her baby....... you know who you are ... you should be ashamed of yourself... tattoo on your face..... you fucking loser.......... - Sun, 25 Mar 2007 4:04pm | ||

My birthday present from my bf last year was him quitting smoking. I told him when we started dating that I would never marry a smoker so he quit. Best present ever if you ask me. | Danielle User Info... | One day....when you are old and grey (not that I am mind you) you hopefully will understand that alot of people do things out of ignorance (lack of knowledge) rather than stupidity or malice. I grew up in a time when almost everyone smoked. We never wore seatbelts. Never wore helmets when we rode our bikes, etc. I lived through it, and grew up to be a mean lean party machine. People do stupid things because they may not know any better. Not necessarily because they are stupid or don't care. We can't stop uneducated, I.Q. challenged people from reproducing unfortunately so the only thing left is to educate them in a non-threatending way so they don't get defensive. My parents used to get me to light their smokes for them and got me smoking by time I was 11. I was also allowed to drink with my alcoholic mother as a youngin' but we don't really need to go there. And helmets? Ya, I never wore one of those until I was in my twenties. You know what I learned from growing up like that? I will NEVER put my children through that and I don't like the idea of standing by while other parents make foolish mistakes either. We live in an enlightened time now - don't we? | Danielle User Info... | I did not define "ignorance" because I thought anyone was dumb, but like many words in the English language, the word ignorance could have various meanings. What I mean to say is that you may have a slightly different definition of it than I do. However, now that I think about it, it probably wasn't such a good word to use in this instance anyway because there are lots of well educated parents out there who are psychologically or physically abusing their children. I know of some sick fucks who were both doctors who abused their son to such a degree he sued them and won. He received a huge settlement but still however ended up on the streets and died from an overdose a few years later. That's how fucked up they made him. And there are lots of educated people out there who are just dumb no matter what. I heard a woman calling her young daughter a "little bitch" once when I was shopping so I went up to her and told her that she was the bitch. She freaked out and started yelling profanities at me but I didn't care, I got my 2 cents worth in and maybe she thought about it later and maybe not but at least having confronted her made me feel a little bit better. So maybe some people don't know any better, maybe they were raised that way and that's the norm for them, but I guess my point (which is diluted now and I'm sure no one could even give a flying fuck) is that if you see an act of "parental neglect/abuse" whatever, it may not just be as simple as the parent being a fucking asshole/bitch. - Tue, 10 Apr 2007 2:23am | ||

I liked to sneak up and scam money, smokes and drink bottoms off of drunk party goers. By the time I was 12 I was closer in age to his girlfriends than he was. Don't feel guilty springy girl, kids love Mcdonalds and if you let them eat that kinda stuff once in a while then they won't go nuts on it when they get older just cuz they weren't allowed to have it before. When mine were at that "always a possibility of having accidents" stage (not so very long ago) I always travelled with a small duffle bag with spare undies/pants whatever just in case. I always wonder if they treat their kids like that in public I shudder at the thought of what goes on behind closed doors.
