Once he says: "I hate you and I totally intend to kill you because you are a paki!" and you can prove he meant it, then you have a solid case that Livevic wont want anything to do with. I don't have a good idea for how to handle censor properly around here, but this will not be the last example. Mace has provided other non-muslim rhetoric which was partially useful at least. We need to avoid the government actually deciding to get involved in regulated Internet censorship. I'm not sure who is more to blame: Mace for poking the bear or bleedin hearts who argue so hard against it. Both extremes are likely to waste energy attempting to completely regulate the behaviour. I would much rather open the discussion wide open, and INCLUDE Nev and the other administrators' view on the best course of action. Banning is useless, and might actually be against the law, except this (so-far) private site might have some leeway. Everyone here is lucky that most people don't have enough money to use the courts. | The Professor User Info... | Just to give my stance on this as an administartor: Mace has not been banned, as lordpatch was, because although is views may be contriversial in a similar manner as Lordpatch's were (the other side of the same coin) he posts his own content in a manner in which the issues he raises can be debated, and thus the community can raise it's voice and self-regulate. The responses to his threads have been strong enough that it's obvious that he is not the voice of the entire community. The problem with Lordpatch, with respect tot his board was not his poilitcs, but just that he would post so much content, most of which not even his own, that it was impossible to have a discussion about any of it. He would not read and reply to threads he started, just post more. I kept my eye on these threads from the start and made sure that Nev was kept posted as to what was going on. The reason we refrained from commenting is because we were comfortable with how you all were representing the sites and exploring the dilemmas involved with taking action. Personally, my opinions on the risks of censorship were already covered by at least a couple of you guys early on (Destroytheflesh, trevor corey etc), and probably much better. People are people in every different facet of life or culture, and one that's pissed me off the most is that I worked for (let's say, a certain muslim nation of the Middle East and most of them were really good to me, but then on the other side of things, they were mostly Christian People, I when I think back, I still think they were up to no good. I didn't know them as Muslims- confusing without naming a middle eastern country- that you'd have to know some history to know which one it is without me naming here on the board) I've worked also in the recent past for people who are bent on being a Muslim, and in reality they are seemingly nice people, and you know they aren't going to go out and start terrorist bombing everybody, they are muslim, yet they even have problems with 'certain arab nations'... The truth is most of the Muslims I know, are fucked in the head, (and I don't mean any disrespect to your friends in personal so please don't take it personal..Laprider) And when I reflect back to how, I even worked for them in the first place is a wonderment of it's own unto me..? But aside from me refering to these people as Muslims, whether they were former employers or used to benefit from what turns out to be my own misfortune... I feel bad, that I even look upon the world this way. As condescending as the world can seem and A frustration of the experiences of my own heritage and family values who apart from me, really don't have a care in the world other than to appreciate the friends and family they have around them, or are grateful for, except me I've seemed to have begrudeoningly unwelcoming of the past and present- and the wars and the people dieing in combat, and then I see people turn around think, wow! I mean, for myself I am sick and tired of the EI's (East Indians), who start fights with just about anyone who look at them. The Shia's actually come back and kill in a more classier type of way than the Sunni's do.. Who kill their enemy by going onto buses loaded with Sunni's and taking them out and killing them.
