| Lurker User Info... | The new version of the album on Crusty is fuckin' way better than the Rats Nest recording. Everything sounds way sharper and punchier. "4 on the Floor" and "Bi-Curious George" are standout tracks for me... they get the most radio play. Myka and I pushed this one to #35 on the CHLY charts for April. - Tue, 9 May 2006 12:21am | ||
| jay brown User Info... | Thanx boys that's awesome. Ya this one seems to be getting us a bunch of radio play. We are in the regular rotation on about eight stations that I know of over in Europe now and I have been getting calls from weird places too, South Carolina, some station put us on the rotation.... and I got an e-mail from some station in thailand that has us on now as well...... weird. Ah well what the fuck, I aint gonna argue with them. | jay brown User Info... | "To truly appreciate the cultural significance of Punk Rock Jihad, one needs a working knowledge of ancient history. A quarter century ago, the Dayglo Abortions shocked their hometown of Victoria with Out Of The Womb, an album packed with songs about religious bumfucks and mommies who drink bags of urine. On Punk Rock Jihad, Alcoholic White Trash outdo their forefathers. Musically speaking the quartet aligns itself with crusty kings like the U.S. Bombs and the Unseen, which means the take no prisoners songs here are fast, furious, and surprisingly well executed. But fuck the music; this one's all about the lyrics. "Blunt Anal Trauma" and "Suck My Dick Bitch" are almost enough to make Punk Rock Jihad the new benchmark for offensiveness in Victoria punk rock. But what cements the deal is the charmingly titled "I Shit My Cunt". As the band makes the sound like Fallujah on a friday night, singer Ratboy Roy bark's out such lines as "I'll fuck you in your fucking ass/Right through your underwear" Somewhere, Jesus Bonehead is in complete and utter awe of what he's spawned. --the Georgia Straight Searing Hardcore punk with a hint of metal overtones and heavy on the scum humor, these boys fit right in with their Victoria luminaries Dayglo Abortions and Lummox.
