| Dayinthelife User Info... | Hi there! We play classic style rock, and are looking to add a second electric guitar to the setup. We have the guitar, we have the cab, all we need is the head! It'll be used mainly for ryhthm and texture, not really any lead. We've got a JTM 45 through 4X12 greenbacks for that! reverb would be a plus, and tube amp is prefered, but we are open to ideas. | Jrock313 User Info... | lol what can be broken because you're looking for a tube head. ur already going to break a grand no matter what. but how much over a grand. actually i know of some really really Cheap Mesa amps i could hook you up with. f-30 for about 1050 f-50 for about 1350 All have reverb and footswitch. | Lucius User Info... | You'll easily be able to find something used for much much less than a grand. There is a used marshall 8100 Valve state on craigslist.org (gotta go back a couple days). Awesome solid state amp for Rock/metal. It has a single 12ax7 tube in it but i still wouldn't consider that tube amp. Check into the Laney AOR series all tube amps (great JCM80 tone for around 4-600). What is your budget, I could name some amps that will fit. | Dayinthelife User Info... | Thanks for the response guys! I hadn't even heard about craigslist.com, man... I spent some time on there this morning! Lucius, I'm looking to spend between about 400-600 bucks, so any other advice would be greatly appreciated. As for solid state amps: I don't have anything against them, it's just I've never used one before...
