| Proper Clubbing User Info... | Proper Clubbing and Steamer's Pub are working together to bring you Vancouver Island's largest local live band talent search - ever. This is THE event of it's kind on the island. Up n' Coming is not a typical 'Battle of the Bands' gig. It is, as a part of Proper Clubbing's commitment to the local communities, a talent search. The winner will have an opportunity to open and/or headline for various Proper Clubbing nights as the band developes over time. Twenty-seven bands will compete for more than $5000 in cash and seriously sweet prizes...not to mention a job! Preliminary rounds will run on Wednesdays from April 5 to June 21. Nights are judged by audience participation, measured by a decibel meter. Every fourth wednesday will be a 'second chance' night, for those who kicked ass on one of the previous three weeks, but did not pass the round because your friends were too drunk to cheer loud enough. Semi-final rounds will take place every Friday from June 30 to July 21. These rounds are also judged by audience participation. The finals are on Friday, July 28. Although audience participation will be a partial factor, there will be an amazing panel of guest judges this night who are very well established in the music industry. And finally, the CD release party will be held on Friday September 1 as part of a back to school party. ~ More details to come. Today was the first day of advertising on the Zone for registrants. Spots are going to fill very soon so if you have been thinking about registering, now is the time to do it before it fills up. Peter is an internationally renouned drummer who toured the world with non other than the amazing Celine Dion herself on the Color of Your Love tour. Music starts at 10:15 and the drawing of stas for line-up order for all nights is at 10. Place is gonna be crazy by 9:30 so come on down early, don't miss out on the action!
