| akylore User Info... |  Overall, I must say I didn't expect this album to be so experimental. 'Choronzon' is probably still my favorite album because it had a great balance of both the experimental elements and the brutality, but it is refreshing to see that a band can progress while maintaining its blackened theme. | Jaron Evil User Info... | Just picked this up the other day at Lyle's Place. I was really surprised at how progressive and diverse this disc was. Constant switches from grindcore to black metal to death metal to Opeth-style clean parts. Lots of doomy elements too. This is definitely Akercocke's most experimental and progressive album to date. There are some death/doomy technical parts as well which brought Immolation to mind. To call this disc a non-humorous, satanic venture into the songwriting style and structure of Crotchduster would be pretty apt.
