Punk's original message was about boredom, knowing they couldn't change what they didn't like so choosing instead to rot in idleness. Punk's real message should be about inactivity, or something class. Punk musicians never really took a stand against politics in the beginning, but it's beginning to lead to more radical roots. That in itself is anarchy, not chaos. As for myself I'm socialist, and I believe I can still hold a Socialist philosophy and be a punk. The whole punk music thing has eveoved into many branches within the last couple decades. there are many types of music which are considered punk now.
