The Dreamwave Project is currently building content for the release of it's first major album and we presently need a female bassist to fill in all the gaps. We will teach you how to use the internet and make cd's, mp3's and how to surf and utilize the web. Please send samples of your work or if you are already internet savy then email us [email protected]. If you play guitar, write poetry, paint, play other instruments, that would be a bonus!

Any reason why the position must be filled by a female? - Mon, 12 Dec 2005 11:54pm

thank you for writing:-) To answer your question: We need a female bassist cause of what she will bring to the creative table,..her talent, her instincts, intuition, her creative side,..she'll know what other female fans will want to hear, see and feel and also female bassist seem quite rare. But most of our newer content is written specifically for a female presence and with possible vocals from this newer addition. Do you know of any?

I was interested.. I'm thinking about getting back into playing again (I've been playing guitar the past couple years), but I'd rather play in a band where they want me because of my musicianship (and the right personality for the band)... not because I lack a penis.

Oh and there are a ton of female bass players out there... It's just most of them are already involved in projects.

Good Luck! - Sat, 17 Dec 2005 10:09pm

Hey there - what up with the female bassists thing? I've been told I wasn't wanted in a band because it was 'an all guy thing' and the female element wasn't wanted. I've also seen lots of 'all girl', 'all guy' bands - and people wanting either male or female singers.

Hon wants a bass player who has female vocals and they obviously want women for their act.

I mean, it would be nice if there were no prejudices in band creation - just going on talent. But people judge the right people for their band on age, looks, sex, contacts, similar musical tastes and chemistry, not just talent.

Anyway, I think it's in poor taste to mock people on these boards - and just makes you look mean-spirited. And may cost you some potential fans.

If people post what you think are crazy posts - then other people will probably think they are nuts too. And if you have a complaint about someone being something of a fraud on the boards, you could always send a message to Nev who can kick their ass off of here.

Otherwise, if someone is just posting about their dreamy, poetic, magical project and it's not your cup of tea - then don't reply.

You don't know if Hon is creepy or not. Psaje was part of King Bong for years and Hon is just a unique kind of person - but who would bend over backwards to help you out. So they're not completely nuts.

Though nuts is better than mean-assed, in my book. :D - Tue, 20 Dec 2005 3:06am

To Tyler,..our band concept is obviously beyond your scope of comprehension and about creepy,.dude or dudette,.take a look at your own fucking picture,..that's creepy!

About Caroline,..thank you for the kind words,..and your right about writing on these message boards. Ohh about female bassist,.from a marketing ploy it would look great for the album, it's a smart business move. Ahh the business of music. We would judge male or female on multiple criteria: talent and quality of music, team player, musical taste , chemistry, singing,..and canadian female singers are in and do better on the radio/marketing demographically. k nuff about dat:-)

Caroline your an awesome talent and a gem to the industry:-) and i wish there were more musicians like you. - Tue, 20 Dec 2005 11:11pm

hmmm! when I read that line, I realized that I never actually responded to Hon C after having some initial interest in lending my saxophone skills to the project. I decided against it. Maybe I should not have been so blunt. My "the fact that you're looking for female-only bassists" was not intended to insult female bassists or anything, I guess I am an idealist in that I believe anyone involved in a project should not be judged by their gender. It is Hon C's choice, of course! It was just another reason I didn't want to be involved, just a view I have I guess. I did not mean to attack or be attacked. I do not agree with Hon C's views, and therefore would not be able to have chemistry with the project, and am no longer interested. I hope we can leave it at that.

King Bong was a band that made some songs I really like, I am sure I will like what the Dreamwave Project does as well, good luck! - Wed, 21 Dec 2005 12:59am

Any reason why a female bassist needs to learn how to do digital art in order to join a band? - Wed, 21 Dec 2005 10:02am

Tyler: thank you for your input/comments and or suggestion, i wish you all the best in the future. I went to your site and you have some amazing photos you've taken.

To I think I'm going to throw up: Let us clarify things for you. The Dreamwave Project needs a female bassist but she doesn't have to learn how to do digital art to join us,..we are going to teach her if she wants those skills and in this day and age, any artist should learn how to digitize art and music and use it on the web,.it's good business sense. We would teach that person how to optimize and take digital photographs and place video for the web. We would teach her management and ecommerce tools to help with the administrative ends and needs of the business mechanics in marketing and managing our band. Part of my background is Project Management in software development.

The Dreamwave Project's mission statement is to utilize and be inspired by our digital and traditonal art/photos/video, as well as our music and it's a bonus for the new member to have new media skills if they decide they want to join us in our committment and vision.

One of the digital paintings I did was inspired by a song Psaje and I created called Mothers and Daughters, to hear a sample: http://www.myspace.com/dreamwavemusic - Wed, 21 Dec 2005 11:32am

To(The Box Drone):

Thanks for writing:-) For the Dreamwave Project it's more important to really keep our eye on the prizes,..which is finding that gifted bassist and building albums/content/music/art/fan base for The Dreamwave Project. The world is filled with so much diversity, so much color, sight, sound, opinions and bands. We keep positive and focused in our missions to create beautiful music, art and sometime in the very near future,..$ales and recognization for our band. All opinions are subjective and no matter what we sing/sang/wrote, written or will do people will always give their opinions and we can't stop that. We really welcome all thoughts and feedback bad or good. We're here to support local bands and its good to help one another. About the mud slinging,..every garden needs a little mud and pee to build an orchard,..and sure ya get weeds once in awhile but eventually your garden will be bountiful in it's harvest,..and it's important to have alot of patience too.

First of all: who the heck is fuller,.

Okay about The Dreamwave Project: it's not just a local project it's a global project, so sure your goin to have people who are not going to enjoy it for now but there are great people/fans/audiences who beg to differ with you. We love our music and it stands on it's own,..there is company in town that is interested in hiring us for a a video they have bidded on for the Olympics 2010, and another big tidbit of fact for ya,.our large growing fanbase: who we love and adore on MySpace beg to differ,..

Want to know something strange: when i try to click on your fuller profile there is no info on you,..Hmmmmm,..i mean your probably not even a musician,.why are you afraid to show any details,.do you play or do you talk,.no wait your a talker blowing off steam,.okay get with the program,.and upload some of your material for others to hear,..and don't you have anything better to do than yap like a little dog, anyhow it's time for The Dreamwave Project to get back to more productive things, like talking less and producing more material for the future albums,.. - Wed, 28 Dec 2005 12:21pm
